I hardly comment on this forum but I just had to...

You see betting, run away from it because money is the least thing it’s gonna cost you, it’s gonna make you seem worthless just not something you can be proud of or say you do outside because if certain people know you bet it will cost you your respect and opportunities too, personally I lost over 200k to this same online betting, just last month and I imagine my siblings or people that look up to me know I play bet how will they see me, I became depressed not because of the money but because I never imagined myself playing bet. My advice to you is it’s never too late to stop... count your losses and move on.

Have you found a substitute channel for your addiction?

Glad you learned your lesson the hard way. I almost became addicted with betting in 2015-2017 but thank God for my Girlfriend (now my wife), she stopped me from that. Now I'm gradually losing interest in football, now i only bet once in blue moon just to keep the love of football alive.

You are still in trouble you just don't know it.

If you cannot enjoy football without betting, you ARE sick in the head.

The girl is just a deterrent. The mental illness is still there!

Blood of God! grin

I've never placed a bet in my life that has to do with money, but reading this was just so fûcking scary.

And I agree with you when you said Nigeria is one of the worst place to have any form of mental illness because of the lack of system. I told my friends some years back and they were arguing with me.

It is fact, mate!

We are a third world country with limited and insufficient resources.

It is like telling a Malo from Northern Nigeria, with 3 wives and 14 children, who works as a local government civil servant with a salary of N34K per month (i.e. salary which some months is not paid), that the family dog has broken its legs and needs surgery.

Do you honestly feel he would fork out the money for that surgery when he has so much mouths to feed, send to school and take care of their health?

F Not!!! That dog is done for.

We need to build our infrastructure and create jobs with the little resources we have. No money for mental health; especially the ones of habit/choice behaviours. If you can't cope and survive based on these behaviours ..........................au revoir to those group of people. C'est la vie!

Looking at Governors of states, it is interesting to see the quality of governors people in states are voting for.

I when the creeetins in Ekiti voted out a highly educated governor for a known illiterate crook all because of "stomach infrastructure".

Here is my current perception of State Governors in Nigeria; grouped by their political platform.

Visionary, Educated and/or with Ray of light
Borno - Babagana Umara Zulum (APC)
Lagos - Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (APC)
Kaduna - Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai (APC)
Nassarawa - Abdullahi A. Sule (APC)
Ekiti - John Olukayode Fayemi (APC)
Ondo - Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (APC)
Kwara - AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (APC)
Oyo - Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde (PDP)
Cross River - Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade (PDP)
Edo - Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki (PDP)
Akwa Ibom - Udom Gabriel Emmanuel (PDP)
Anambra - Charles Chukwuma Soludo (APGA)

Illiterates, Low Quality and/or Certified crooks
Kebbi - Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (APC)
Kano - Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (APC)
Gombe - Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya (APC)
Kogi – Yahaya Adoza Bello (APC)
Niger - Abubakar Sani Bello (APC)
Zamfara - Bello Muhammad Matawalle (APC)
Ebonyi - David Nweze Umahi (APC)
Ogun - Dapo Abiodun (APC)
Osun - Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola (APC)
Katsina - Aminu Bello Masari (APC)
Bauchi - Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (PDP)
Rivers - Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike (PDP)
Bayelsa - Douye Diri (PDP)
Delta - Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi (PDP)
Adamawa - Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (PDP)
Benue - Samuel Ioraer Ortom (PDP)
Abia - Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (PDP)

Undefined/Unknown Quality
Plateau - Simon Bako Lalong (APC)
Imo - Hope Odidika Uzodinma (APC)
Jigawa - Mohammed Badaru Abubakar (APC)
Yobe - Mai Mala Buni (APC)
Sokoto - Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (PDP)
Taraba - Darius Dickson Ishaku (PDP)
Enugu - Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (PDP)

This shows majority of Nigerians are still voting for useless leaders.

Na hunger go wire dem!

I'm a corp member ing out this coming december, during the previous month I have managed to raised 180k from my alawee.

Last month october I discovered bet9ja online betting through my friend, and decided to give it a try at first I was winning, I was happy that I discovered a way to earn extra income, I ignored all the warnings that I saw online about betting. Gradually I started losing, sometimes my games enter and sometimes cut but i refused to stop.

To cut it short guys I'm now pennyless, my 180k turn 0k in just a month and next month I'm heading to my village empty handed. Its been so long since I cry but today i did.

Unfortunately, for majority of betting addicts, which you definitely are because you don't know and can't control when to stop, it is not a bad habit.

It is a brain malfunction!

Research, through brain scans, show that the wiring of the brain of such people is bad right from time. It is a mental illness!

https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/bbc-viewers-heartbroken-paul-merton-25190772

Trying to change you is as hopeless as trying to change a poofter/homosexual to become straight. Ain't gonna work!

That is FACT No 1!

FACT No 2 is that a third world country like Nigeria is the wrong place to have such a mental illness. There is no system or social medical treatment available for such, and majority of the addict's family are struggling or have their own challenges to the point they are likely to lack funds to sponsor any advanced treatment (which typically would have to be ongoing for months, if not years, at great costs).

Sorry, Naija is not the place to have such a mental health problem. Kolewerk!

So except an addict like you can go deep and summon the willpower from somewhere deep to stop betting (you do bet, so you know about odds. The odds for this possibility is very bad), you are what my close American friends label as "pretty much f**ked".

It is the beginning of the destruction and end of your life!

Very few with this mental health problem can get out of it. For the majority who can't, their options are:

1) Get someone responsible, and who you trust, to take agency of your finances. Basically all your income goes into the care of that person as soon as you get it, and they have instructions to only give you money for survival (aka pocket money).

All rents, school fees and homely white goods purchases should be done for you by that agent. Meaning the agent pays the supplier directly and not through you.

2) Continue until you reach the point where you have destroyed your life. Most likely, you would have even stolen from people or your employers to fund your betting losses.

After you destroy your life, you will feel suicidal! My only request of anyone thinking of suicide and who decides to go through with it in Nigeria is: Never waste your suicide!

Find one of the looting and corrupt baaaastard politicians in Nigeria, especially the ones that show off with their loot or are powerful or has served only a short time in prison for their corruption, and kill them publicly. After, let their security shoot you or then kill yourself somehow or go through the court system and take your death sentence.

It irritates me when I see frustrated Nigerians go to 3rd mainland bridge and just kill themselves. Or the ones that hang themselves in their towns/villages because salaries have not been paid for months.

DON'T WASTE YOUR SUICIDE! I want all Nigerians to spread these 4 words to all those who are suicidal. They should use their suicide to help their nation before they leave life.

DON'T WASTE YOUR SUICIDE!!!

It is a shame the kinds of reeetards we appoint as political figures in Nigeria (and most of Africa).

A prime example is the creeetin called Abubakar Malami who is a product of Usman Danfodio University and University of Maiduguri.

In saner climes, this kind of fool can never make it to be a top paralegal, but in Nigeria, he is an AGF and SAN.

It was irritating to hear this fooooool and the other foooooool called Garba Shehu seen to suggest that banning open grazing is "unconstitutional".

Imagine a SAN and AGF lacking the basic logical reasoning to even understand the grounds and logic of a law. Then the fooolish Garba (representing the low IQ Presidency) seem to insinuate the same thing.

I was reading the junk statement to the point I could not help but take out some time to destroy these dumb creeetins' arguments with simple but yet superior logic.

https://punchng.com/open-grazing-southern-govs-resolutions-offered-no-solution-says-presidency/

According to Shehu, “The President had approved a number of specific measures to bring a permanent end to the frequent skirmishes as recommended by Alhaji Sabo Nanono, the Minister of Agriculture in a report he submitted and the President signed off on it back in April, well before the actions of the Southern Governors Forum which attempts to place a ban on open grazing and other acts of politicking intended by its signatories to demonstrate their power.

This fooool distracted by using "specific measures" to hide the fact that the half-dead person in Aso Rock has no IQ to proffer solutions to the security problems facing the nation.

What "specific measures"? Big active words, no action.

While Nigerians are being killed and there is increasing inter-tribal bitterness, is it the time for Half-Dead man to be Mr Go-Slow?

And the solution to Nigeria's problem should come from the iiiidiot Agriculture Minister that used public funds to build a mosque for people?

Giving some cretinous excuse that they spent N30m to build a mosque for people so they don't have to go far.

Since when did Ministry of Agriculture become Ministry of Humanitarian and Religious Affairs? How is it Ministry of Agriculture's business whether you have access to or go to a Mosque? These are the dumb creeetins appointed in political roles? Creeetins that will never be higher than menial workers in the West!

“It is equally true that their announcement is of questionable legality, given the Constitutional right of all Nigerians to enjoy the same rights and freedoms within every one of our 36 states (and FCT) -regardless of the state of their birth or residence."

Bloody creeetins!

As for the AGF that was appointed a SAN by the bunch of cretins we have as lawyers in Nigeria, here are a few logical questions to ravel your dumb head:

How can it violate anyone's constitutional right to have a law that improves security and safety?

How can it violate anyone's constitutional right to have a law that applies to every human being equally?

Or did the law say only Fulanis cannot engage in open grazing?

Or the law said Fulanis cannot enter Southern Nigeria?

So how does the laws of the Southern Governors violate the "constitutional right of all Nigerians to enjoy the same rights and freedoms within every one of our 36 states (and FCT) -regardless of the state of their birth or residence"?

Your cretinous product of a failed education ass does not understand the meaning of the English word "same"?

How come your dumb, low-quality education asses did not say it was unconstitutional when Northern states barred Nigerians from selling or drinking alcohol in public in some hard-core North states?

Northern Governors are suppose to have the powers to do that in their state but the southern governors should not have equal powers for something that is more dangerous like a bunch of backward and medieval people going around killing and raaping people?

And your dumb ass is talking about "same rights and freedoms"?

I don't blame you that much, I blame the creeetin calling himself "journalist", Seun Akinbaloye, for having such a low IQ to allow you make such a dumb statement and go unchallenged. Typical of the shithole dumbos that are in Nigeria, this halfwit woo has been winning awards and accolades for his "journalism".

The creeetin is a bloody quack who can only ever get a journalist job in a shithole like Nigeria. Na security man e go dey do for London.

If I was interviewing the buffooon and product of a failed education system called Malami, I would have intellectually dragged the cretin on the floor that day.

Op, I have a contrary opinion. HSBC and UBS are both into investment banking. Which means, they invest in emerging opportunities and reap off it when it is full fledged. Absence of emerging opportunities and a good performing local exchange (NSE) led to their premature exit.
