You can request that you send your port when you’re back from your trip .Just in case take evidence of the the trip you’re going for .

Oh no. I’m definitely going for the appointment. The worst that can happen is I leave with my port, forgo the visa & might try again another time. It’s not that big a deal to me. But I’m not leaving my port unless I’m guaranteed to get it back Wednesday. That’s the major thing I’m trying to find out.

Good evening everyone. Thanks for all the helpful posts. I have my interview this coming Monday 2nd Dec. The issue is I’m traveling out of the country on Thursday 5th Dec & cannot move the trip as it’s from work. I also don’t want to reschedule my interview date as the available dates I’m seeing are too far away. I plan to just go ahead and attend the interview. Should the interview turn out to be successful, can I request to keep my port until I come back from my trip then submit it for the visa? Or is it possible for my visa to be issued in 1 day and I get my port back with the visa on Wednesday 4th, before my trip on Thursday? Is that something that they do? Thank you. I’m a first time applicant so don’t know how their own system works.

Visa Alert!

- Biometrics date: 20th July, TLS Abuja
- First timer
- Visa duration: 2 years visit visa

I applied for a 6 month visit visa in November last year and was rejected, due to unexplained large deposits from my employer in my salary .

Decided to just go for 2 years when reapplying. Wrote a very detailed cover letter and resubmitted the salary statement from the rejected application, explaining every single deposit in it, amongst other things.

I also submitted a new more recent 6 months salary statement for the new application.

I have been a silent reader. Thanks everyone for all the tips! Was a bit worried when I saw some people saying first time applicants don’t get 2 year visas, but I decided to just go for it anyway and was granted a 2 year visa.
