Arielle: Yes. You heard that right. It's not until your preferred candidate (perhaps the one that probably came third during the last presidential election?) wins an election before it can be deemed credible enough to validate democracy's superiority over military rule. The current/sitting president went through the worst campaign of calumnyfrom the opposition yet still won that election. If he could do it then there's still hope for your preferred candidate. Advice your candidate to build more bridges and try next time. Trying to gain power through the backdoor via military intervention can't happen again in Nigeria. Any military coup in today's Nigeria would only lead to a rehashing of 1966 or even worse because the people are more aware. Therefore you're left with no choice than to go back to the drawing board and plan for the next election. Or better still, relocate to Burkina Faso where you can enjoy military rule. |

nairalanda1: Absolutely. I agree and mentioned that in the post you quoted. In the 50s and 60s onwards it was majorly the American CIA that was behind the coups and instability. Kwame Nkrumah's overthrow is a classic case study. Till today most Ghanaians feel a deep sense of shame that they allowed themselves to be conned and used as willing tools to derail their own stability and progress. But paradoxically, a large chunk of younger generation of Ghanaians are also currently being puppeteered & used by yet another foreign power to push pro-military takeover propaganda. Apparently, Africans still lack the mental awareness to stay sovereign. |

What's happening is being well choreographed by Russia to lure gullible Africans into destabilizing their own countries to weaken them enough to become its puppets. It's reminiscent of similar tactics used by foreign powers during the 50s and 60s (particularly the 60s) to radicalize young Africans in the military into seizing power from democratically elected governments. In the case of Nigeria, what we're currently witnessing is similar to the propaganda that preceded and was used to recruit, motivate and mobilize the likes of Kaduna Nzeogwu into executing the coup that eventually triggered and culminated in the devastating Biafra civil war. Nigeria is still yet to recover from the consequences of those events. Unfortunately, it seems the younger generation of Africans are too naive to understand that they're mere pawns in a high stakes game of chess of geopolitical proportions. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Israel is just wasting its time. They can never wipe out the Palestinians, never. The children of the Palestinians they're bombing today will become even more belligerent than their parents ever were. It is what it is. Israelis will never know peace in the Middle East. For as long as peace and human dignity eludes the Palestinians in their land, so will the Israelis never witness peace. That will always be their portion forever in that land.

SaiOba: Agreed. But that mustn't happen until GW Bush, the Clintons, Tony Blair, Netanyahu, etc are first tried for their own crimes against humanity at the same ICC. 185 Likes 14 Shares |

Sources report that Peter Obi knelt down and begged Sule Lamido before he was allowed to meet with former V.P Atiku Abubakar. According to sources privy to the meeting, Peter Obi reportedly begged to be allowed back into the PDP to enable him achieve his presidential ambition in 2027. However, the former V.P was non-committal, and urged that further discussions be had concerning the request at a later time. Stay tuned for more details..... 14 Likes |

Iykegodslove: You are not a serious person. It's like you're playing with your life. A woman that can be cheating on you under your roof has no iota of respect left for you, guy. Unlike men, women are incapable of loving more than one man at a time. You're being played for a sucker and you seem too weak of a man to take decisive action. Even if you forgive her she'll never regain the lost respect for you coz you would've proved that you're not man enough to do the needful when necessary. Perhaps she's seen that trait of weakness in you hence her willingness to cheat on you. Goodluck, coz you're gon need it, lots of it. |

I don't get why they're so bitter and allergic to positive developmental news emanating from the SW and Nigeria by extension. That election loss really hit them hard. 62 Likes 3 Shares |
