Daughter of the Vice President of Nigeria and an entrepreneur, Kiki Osinbajo. In an interview with PUNCH where she talked about her life, revealed her father, Yemi Osinbajo once sang her bedside for over an hour and a half.

During the interview, she was asked:
It is evident that you have a very cordial relationship with your dad, what are some of the fun memories you had with him as a child?

She said:

"My dad is the best! I mean I got his middle name ‘Oluleke’. I think the best memory was when I was about 18; we went to Abu Dhabi, UAE on holiday, I had a minor accident and was hospitalised for a couple of days. When I got back home, I was in pain and was crying. Everyone tried everything they could, but nothing worked. My dad came in, stood by the side of my bed, singing worship songs. He sang for about an hour and a half till I fell asleep. When I woke up, he was right there beside me even then I was in pain, but I didn’t want to wake him up because I knew if I moved too much, he would’ve woken up. I always knew he loved me but this made me realise how much."

Juventus Coach Maurizio Sarri visited Cristiano Ronaldo on vacation to discuss the new centre-forward role for CR7, which papers are already nicknaming CR9.

Multiple sources including La Stampa, Corriere della Sera, Gazzetta dello Sport and more all state that Sarri and director of sport Fabio Paratici flew out to the Cote d’Azur on Friday for a face-to-face meeting with Ronaldo on his yacht.

The former Napoli and Chelsea tactician has already hinted he’d like Ronaldo to shatter the existing Serie A record of 36 goals in a single season, set by Gonzalo Higuain at Sarri’s Napoli.

The key will reportedly be to move the Portuguese winger into the False 9 role, following in the footsteps of Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard.

Sarri made it clear in his Press conference that he is not stuck with the 4-3-3 system, having used 4-3-1-2 at Empoli and at the beginning of his Napoli career.

He intends to speak to the players and adapt his tactics to fit their characteristics, starting with the MVP Ronaldo.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday through its President General, Cheif Nnia Nwodo warned that there is no future for Nigeria with the current structural imbalance in the political spectrum of the country.

The President General of Ohanaeze said:

“There is no future for Nigeria. As long as the north decides to be unreasonable and unrealistic, this country can never get better.

“The country is only heading for implosion as long as equity and fairness is denied some sections of the country. The only solution is restructuring or the country will eventually hit the rocks – if not today, tomorrow. What does it cost to be fair and live in peace?

“Certainly, nobody will blame anybody if emotion runs high and the thread holding the country becomes thin and snaps.

“No condition is permanent in life. There are ominous signs and the clouds are gathering. Let the remaining generation that witnessed the Nigerian civil war recant and save the country from the cataclysm that will envelop her if the generation are allowed to inherit the callousness and wickedness pervading the land now. Nigerians beware of civil war.”

The Nigerian Navy, through the Forward Operating Base, Bonny, Rivers State, on Thursday, June 13, 2019 handed over a vessel, MV DE BLESSING and 13 suspects allegedly involved in illegal oil bunkering to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Port Harcourt Zonal Office, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The suspects are: Oribhabor Stanley, Sunny Ndom, Omonojo Segun, Ernest Mabiri, James Agbana, Addwale Adebanjo, Alex Ewa, Victor Oguduvbe, Hope Sunday, Job Daniel Onuh, Tamuno Belema, Onoghese Godwin and Akpoebi Mack.

They were on board the vessel, when they were arrested by the patrol team of Forward Operating Base within Bonny Channel, Rivers State.

Specifically, MV DE BLESSING was arrested for carrying 79 metric tons of products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil, AGO. The Naval Handing Over Officer, Navy Captain K.O. Oguntuga said that preliminary investigations conducted so far showed that acts of economic sabotage suspected to have been committed required further investigation by the EFCC.

Bala Mohammed, a Senior Detective Inspector with the EFCC, who received the suspects and vessel, gave assurances that the case will be diligently investigated.

In a statement he released that was made available to Mediahelm News, he said:


"Today I received the Report of the Presidential on the Reform of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). We constituted the as a result of public outcry and various media reports on allegations of human rights violations perpetrated by officers and men of SARS."

"The , whose hip was constituted by the National Human Rights Commission, was empowered to make recommendations on how to hold Police Officers found wanting able, and also, on how SARS and the larger Nigeria Police Force can be properly reformed."

"In carrying out their statutory responsibilities, the Police must at all times act within the ambit of the law and must not violate the fundamental human rights of Nigerians whom they have sworn to protect."

"Where the rights of Nigerians are violated by Police Officers while discharging their functions, we as the Government have a responsibility to address these instances of violation, and ensure that such Police Officers are held able for their actions."

"I also recognize that we have a responsibility to improve the welfare of our Police Officers, as they daily put their lives on the line in order that the rest of us may freely go about our business in safety. Police Welfare remains one of the priorities of our istration."

"I assure that we will balance these important responsibilities: improving the welfare and capacity of the Police while also ensuring that we keep them in check, protect the human rights of Nigerians, and ensure that offending officers are held fully able."

"We will also strengthen the operations of the National Human Rights Commission to enhance its effectiveness and capability to resolve cases of human rights violations."

"I thank the of the SARS Reform for their work, and have directed the Inspector General of Police and the Solicitor General of the Fed/Perm Sec, Justice to meet with the NHRC to work out the modalities for the implementation of the Report within 3 months from today."

Anthony Joshua react after he was knocked out in stunning fashion by Andy Ruiz Jr, losing his world heavyweight titles and his unbeaten record in the process.

“I was just in front of a good fighter,” he said. “Boxing is a tough sport, but I trained hard, I stayed dedicated.

A late replacement and massive underdog, Andy Ruiz Jr. just shook up the world.

Ruiz (33-1, 22 KOs) spoiled the long-awaited U.S. debut of unified heavyweight champion and British star Anthony Joshua to score four knockdowns and record a spectacular upset via seventh-round TKO at Madison Square Garden.

Ruiz get up off the canvas early in Round 3 in order to do what oddsmakers felt was nearly impossible, he showed tremendous poise, power and fearlessness in systematically dismantling Joshua (22-1, 21 KOs) to flip the heavyweight division upside down

Ruiz, 29, a native of southern California, became the first boxer of Mexican descent to win a heavyweight title as he captured Joshua's IBF, WBA and WBO titles with excessive force and heart. The upset was arguably the biggest within the division.

"I just want to thank God for giving me this victory. Without him this wouldn't have been possible," Ruiz said. "This is what I have been dreaming about. This is what I have been working hard for, and I can't believe I just made my dreams come true."

Ruiz never backed down from there despite letting Joshua off the hook in Round 4 when it was clear both fighters were heavily fatigued. Two knockdowns later in Round 7 and referee Michael Griffin jumped in at 1:27 to wave the fight off as Joshua was weary on his feet.

With the sold-out crowd, which was largely in favor of Joshua, stunned and silent following the stoppage, Ruiz jumped around the ring in wild celebration.

"Big respect to Andy, big big respect," Joshua said. "[He's a] good fighter. Thank you America. Thank you everyone for coming out this evening. Sorry I let my friends down, sorry I let my ers down."
