Face Off: Creative Minds This is a short set of black and white illustration of some of favourite black rappers. Childish Gambino for his socially aware and minded tracks laced with relatable lyrics and visuals and one that easily comes to mind is "This is America". Kanye West for his genius level of thinking in design, music and production and of course one of my favourite songs from his catalogue is Power. Andre 3000 is one of the best lyricist on earth and just reading about his life and journey showed how much a creative mind can weight on sometimes...

Facts The fact that you're nice doesn't change the fact that people might treat you wrong Throw you under the bus Make you feel like you're the worse And still want an apology from you for their wrongs. The fact that you're smart doesn't guarantee you'll be understood Take a seat on my stool Let me teach you the ways of the wise and fools Maybe you'll learn a thing or two The fact most women prefer rich men doesn't change the fact that...hmmmm You might not get laid unless you pay Slave yourself for family and friends all day, maybe always And still end up marrying a broke fine babe The fact that you saw the four walls of a university Doesn't guarantee your wealth in this universe or maybe the place you call a city Doesn't change the fact you might like live an average life of pity And still wish you had done things differently The fact that you're from a particular tribe or place Doesn't guarantee you a place at the place where the so called men play Tribe might even get you a mark faster than the way you Hey! or hei! Maybe a machete across your face when your maker says it's your day... The fact that I write this doesn't guarantee I'm exempted Or you're exonerated or that this doesn't count Read the lines and ask if this truth needs another voice to scream it out The fact that we're maybe pawns to the watcher in a universe Strange that maybe our alternate selves know already more than our self...

We are all artists in our own right, each with his own brush of experience, and palettes of colours from past and present events. The stories and poems we tell are full body artworks of what we feel, the emotions that have seeped through our skin, from the beads of sweat from our heads to the mound of dirt in our feet, from the sounds we've made with our lips to the rhythm we swing our hip in concordance with. We are all full body artists, every expression matters, every stroke that kisses the canvas; ears of friends and strangers alike carry a long lasting potent of a journey we put in motion, so here's a few of mine...

Artwork by Midjourney AI
|
![]() |
What's Midjourney MidJourney is an AI-powered system that creates images from prompts. On their website, they describe themselves as: “An independent research lab. Exploring new mediums of thought. Expanding the imaginative powers of the human species.” While DALL·E is designed to generate anything you can imagine – including the mundane or ugly -Midjourney has a bias towards creating painterly, aesthetically-pleasing images by default. Given the choice, MidJourney prefers to create images with complimentary colours, artistic use of light and shadow, sharp details, and composition with satisfying symmetry or perspective. In the words of its founder, “we just want it to be easy to use – and we want the pictures to look good.” Unlike DALL·E 2 or DALL·E Mini, Midjourney doesn’t work as a web app. Nor is there any coding required. Instead, you use it in a popular chat app called Discord, by ‘talking to’ a bot. (Discord, for those unfamiliar, is very similar to Slack, and just like Slack, it works both in your browser and in a standalone app, on both desktop and mobile. )

Some artworks from @openaidalle

So what it means is that this AI can translate your words with those mentioned as part of what's embedded in its systems to generate an Image. What's the comparison with Midjourney. I didn't hop on this on time but I had the opportunity to use Midjourney and might pay for an additional opportunity layer this week. But first let's enjoy some art by DALL-E and maybe in some other thread, I'll try manipulating some of these artworks.

How DALL·E 2 works I’ll explain DALL·E 2 more intuitively soon, but I want you to form now a general idea of how it works without resorting to too much simplification. These are the four key high-level concepts you have to : CLIP: Model that takes image-caption pairs and creates “mental” representations in the form of vectors, called text/image embeddings (figure 1, top). Prior model: Takes a caption/CLIP text embedding and generates CLIP image embeddings. Decoder Diffusion model (unCLIP): Takes a CLIP image embedding and generates images. DALL·E 2: Combination of prior + diffusion decoder (unCLIP) models. DALL·E 2 is a particular instance of a two-part model (figure 1, bottom) made of a prior and a decoder. By concatenating both models we can go from a sentence to an image. That’s how we interact with DALL·E 2. We input a sentence into the “black box” and it outputs a well-defined image. For better explanation you can look at the Instagram slides to understand the big words.

As they did with DALL·E, OpenAI didn’t release DALL·E 2 (you can always the never-ending waitlist). However, they open-sourced CLIP which, although only indirectly related to DALL·E, forms the basis of DALL·E 2. (CLIP is also the basis of the apps and notebooks people who can’t access DALL·E 2 are using.) Still, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, said they’ll eventually release DALL·E models through their API — for now, only a few selected have access to it (they’re opening the model to 1000 people each week).

DALL·E 2 is the new version of DALL·E, a generative language model that takes sentences and creates corresponding original images. At 3.5B parameters, DALL·E 2 is a large model but not nearly as large as GPT-3 and, interestingly, smaller than its predecessor (12B). Despite its size, DALL·E 2 generates 4x better resolution images than DALL·E and it’s preferred by human judges +70% of the time both in caption matching and photorealism. |

When war comes for you, You shall hear no party's chant When war forces you to yield, No facts or knowledge shall exonerate your seed When war creeps upon us from the North, No oil field nor web3 shall shield you down South When war wreaks havoc on this land The same land you call home You can bet there’ll be no snakes in the sand All will be unveiled like a live show When war brings to life all it finds as haram The words of your mouth will freeze sons of Adam When war sets and the west begins to shiver, The shaking man will not be left to deliver When War Comes... 1 Like |

This was written months ago...but after watching BBC's documentary on the bandits warlords of zamfara...I had to. Maybe when I write, I'm inspired...maybe cos I see my words string beautiful occurrences in the present that was not there in the past when my pen kissed the paper..... |

Vaugh inspired this.... I carry the kind of love in my heart that you'll never find... People be scared of their demons, but I make friends with mine I might have bent the truth, but I never lied... Something to feel alive when am dead inside... All my personal issues am learning to set aside... I tell God thank you for this testimonies but you'll never see me testify Was in pain for months but it was Jesus always by my side... See I've been told since I was a little boy Since I was sketching my dreams in a 60 leaves note Since I made it out of the place where dreams get cold I was a teen when I made the decision That I would go higher than my folks own vision That's when I learnt the same ones that love you...will try to use you Everybody trynna win so nobody cries when they lose you... If I don't laugh then it's certain I'll cry So I still laugh even if I have to force it, Bleep it I should've started writing since my pen's hot but unlike my peers I have to find the sweet spot So I can slide in, slide out...am a changed man So I don't like the taste of a free honeypot Allow me to introduce myself, the name's HIM that's pronoun like Bob Risky, can't tell me that's not him Welcome to my country where most girls are hoes digging for fold from boys that scam white folks the fact is most learnt about scam before they learnt how to read that's why they chase money before they learn to chase their dreams that's word to those who are not afraid to to sleep In a country that could kill you faster than aids...that's cheap I'm collating my thoughts, preparing to spill the truth You may not like it but I'm already deep in the booth Sharing experiences of my youth, you should too... Sorry for the wait |

You cannot explain It when they say Hi, How are you?, You say fine But are you? So you tell yourself quickly I cannot explain this feeling when I wake up with no zeal no excitement, nothing brings appeal to this raging thoughts of despair So you hid the raging pain like dirty underwear. When they say why You reply why me?, Why this? God gives his soldiers the toughest battles who said you wanted a uniform with troubles who said you were not comfortable unrattled so when the first one left you said it's well well enough till the next one left you stay alone and wept you flourished in your fears That soon another bond would be severed and how right you were so you ask again Why me?, but all you get is a loud silence When they say what's up? You ask who's up?, They reply with what's down You say the loved ones you let down... You rephrase the loved ones cut down... Cut down before you could plead for a showdown but death doesn't fight fair so he snatched your daughter when you were unaware instead killed your brother while he slept and now all you see when you look at dirt is the pathway that leads nowhere but hurt When they say are you okay upstairs? You ask what's left up there? Memories of my daughter, brother and sisters A vivid picture of me losing to their killers.... Rest in Peace Ada Ameh In a Nation where so many things were wrong, you fought for what was right and stayed strong despite your mental health issues. I believe you're in a better place.

I'm almost ready to explore this other side of life. The experiences I'm dealing with transitioning to a full youth, the lies and truths. What's the reason we're here, what's the reason we fear... What's the purpose for segregation and marginalisation... what's the purpose of me before you or others... Allah or God, same meaning or each words carry the weight of a religion loaded with so many false teachers and prophets... Girl or Woman, what's the difference? Boy or Man, who decides what's make one up... Stop...right here...write here... |

After a long break.... I'll be dropping a compilation of my emotions, thoughts, fears and aspirations 18-06-22. It's something I've never tried before, a full expression. So many people might get offended by it but it's jus my right to write my wrongs |

The prize for life is death... Life is virtual, Death is the reality... It comes like an unwanted guest. The type that comes without prior notice Enters your kitchen and takes the last slice of bread you reserved for yourself... It feels you with hunger to cry and yet not be satisfied... To feel pain yet wonder what's the meaning of life... But the most profound truth is Death is the price we pay for this life, sometimes it comes like a stubborn debtor, unexpected Sometimes it's seen or is it... If you ask me for words of comfort, I have none. I have grown grey over time. Black and white, a parchment of the eventuality of life I would say. But what I would imploy you my dear friend is to bask in those moments Dad left behind. Embrace those happy thoughts you once shared and be grateful for the times that was spent. Life's but a dream. Take Heart my Dear. 2 Likes |
