Despite tensions, South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa paid an official visit to the White House to cement ties over trade, amid the fiasco generated over land ownership in the "Rainbow Country,".

The South African President, Rama thanked Trump for the meeting and hoped the relationship between both countries continue for the better.
Trump responded in kind but ambushed Rama by asking him to react to videos from South Africans persecuting and threatening white farmers.

The US President told aides to dim the light and play the video, also showing the South African President photographs of white farmers attacked in his country, urging him to respond to them. Trump stressed teh world was quiet because it was Blacks against Whites, "on the other way around, it will have been called apartheid, though terrible, but that's what it will have been called"

Trump turned it to a question-and-answer session, asking if whites felt safe in South Africa.

Team SA did very well.

The video had nothing to do with SA policy, which Ramaphosa and white coalition minister refuted.

It was Malema. OP's right up doesn't mention this. Ramaphosa can't speak for opposition parties and therefore he wasn't humiliated.

People are just wicked. The south africa court couldn't find him guilty of all the rape allegations. However, out of south African hatred; some government officials said don't want him again when he went to start crusade again having pulled multitude. They just by all means look for another offence to hang on him regarding how he entered, dragged him to court again, before they talk of banning him for 5yrs.

His judgement is mixed with hatred, but God will comfort him and make him stronger. This is a wicked world! You are not guilty until the court found you guilty, but court couldn't find him guilty; yet, his enemies rose against him again. South africa and hatred are like 5 and 6. Welcome back home. God who sees the heart will comfort you. He will lift you higher above your enemies. Jesus has already said, you shall be persecuted and hated by people of the world. Be strong! Holy Spirit will comfort you. We are praying for you. Bravo! Don't be ashamed. Leave this one I quote here, he may even be worse than the pastor, but anything pastor or christian usually make their heads hot

The judge found the prosecutors did a bad job of cross examination, not that Omotoso didn't commit the crimes. Countless complainants came forward - the evidence was overwhelming. The case was just bungled.

Listen to the judge.

Nigerian televangelist Timothy Omotoso has left South Africa for his home country, Nigeria.

A flight carrying him to Lagos departed from OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday.

Omotoso was first arrested back in 2017 facing 32 charges including rape, human trafficking and racketeering. He was accused of these crimes with two other women from his church.

In April, the three were acquitted of all charges by Judge Irma Schoeman in the Gqeberha High Court.

The televangelist was re-arrested earlier in May for immigration related matters.

He was then freed after a court ruled that Home Affairs didn't follow proper arrest procedures.

BANNED FOR FIVE YEARS

Home Affairs says the controversial pastor is not allowed to return to South Africa for the next five years.

Omotoso was expected to mount a legal challenge of his own against the Department of Home Affairs following the court ruling on his rearrest over immigration matters.

The department said they have declared Omotoso as a prohibited and undesirable person in South Africa.

The televangelist will only be able to reapply to come back to SA after five years. Home affairs said this was emphasised and accordingly communicated with Omotoso.

South Africans on social media rejected a pledge of collaboration Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelethini signed with King Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Itsekiri Olu of Warri in Nigeria in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal on 16 May 2025.

According to Sunday World, Misuzulu and Atuwatse III signed the symbolic pledge of collaboration, and Misuzulu said the pledge was not a symbolic gesture but an awakening of ancestral bonds between the two nations. Misuzulu said the two nations, separated by boundaries, are united by kinship, legacy and both nations' roles as custodians of African heritage, culture and dignity.

Misuzulu said the purposeful meeting was born not out of convenience but a vision both nations shared to lead the Zulus and the Warri people into a future rooted in identity. He said both nations are ready to build trade and cultural relationships, and considered the engagement as a testimony of Pan African unity.

The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Thami Ntuli, announced that the royal house received R86 million annually, a 4.3% increase. The money is meant to assist Misuzulu's cultural roles. Misuzulu also reappointed Prince Thulani Zulu as his current spokesperson. Zulu left the position three years ago when he fell out of favour with Misuzulu after he ascended the throne.

WHAT DID SOUTH AFRICANS SAY?

Netizens commenting on Sunday World's Facebook post rejected the partnership.

Jacinta Zinhle MaNgobeswe Zuma asked: "Collaborate to do what?"

Anele Jones asked: "Why did God curse us with such spineless and stupid leaders? What did we do to deserve this? This so-called king doesn't even love people under his leadership."

Lutendo Mphidi Chi-anzi said: "He doesn't understand the tribe he leads. Unless he's doing it intentionally."

Matthews Maphalala asked: "Out of all the tribes, he chose Nigerians?"

Balebetse Seleka said: "I think the wrong man was chosen for the Zulu monarch.

Trevor Ndlela said: "The problem with our king is that he does not understand the tribe he leads."

Mavuso Lungelo Mawande said: "This country is out of control now. We have our domestic issues to sort out."

President Donald Trump says President Cyril Ramaphosa will be coming to see him next week.

This crucial face-to-face meeting is likely to be tense, and the outcome critical for the future of South Africa-US relations, which have hit rock bottom.

Trump announced Ramaphosa’s visit during a press conference in Washington, which covered a wide range of subjects, including what he called the “genocide” he claimed was being conducted against white Afrikaners. This was why the US had offered them citizenship, he said. Forty-nine Afrikaner “refugees” were due to arrive in Washington on Monday afternoon, to make the US their new home.

“Now the South African leadership is coming to see me, I understand sometime next week,” Trump said.

Earlier on Monday, International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola said at a media briefing that planning for a working visit by Ramaphosa to the US had reached a “very advanced stage”.

The meeting between the two presidents is likely to be fraught as relations have been rocked by a series of hostile executive orders and statements from Trump and his government, terminating US aid, imposing huge import tariffs, expelling SA’s ambassador to the US Ebrahim Rasool and otherwise throwing economic and political relations into turmoil.

Trump has attacked South Africa for a range of foreign policy decisions, mainly for taking Israel to the International Court of Justice for alleged genocide in Gaza, but also for alleged genocide against white Afrikaners.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o7X-r_hg_Y?si=KXCw_iPRXZaIFJmW

At the press conference on Monday, Trump was asked why he was creating an expedited path into the US for Afrikaners while he had halted virtually all refugee issions for people suffering famine and war, like those from Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“Because they’re being killed and we don’t want to see people being killed,” he replied.

“It’s a genocide taking place,” he added, repeating accusations by his officials.

“Farmers are being killed. They happen to be white. But whether they’re white or black makes no difference to me. But white farmers are being brutally killed and their land is being confiscated in South Africa.

“And so we’ve essentially extended citizenship to those people to escape from that violence and come here.”

TRUMP TO SNUB G20 SUMMIT IN SA?

He said that he didn’t know how he could attend the G20 summit, which SA is hosting in Johannesburg in November, “unless that situation is taken care of”.

As Lamola and others have explained, there is no evidence that white farmers are being singled out for murder. Trump’s accusations that their land is being confiscated have evidently been prompted by the recent age of the Expropriation Act, which allows the government to expropriate land without compensation in some circumstances. But the Act has not so far been used.

AVOIDING HUMILIATION, STANDING HIS GROUND

International expert, Porf. Bheki Mngomezulu, says he is concerned for President Cyril Ramaphosa ahead of his meeting with his United States (US) counterpart, Donald Trump.

The SA government dismissed the claims as misinformation.

Mngomezulu says Ramaphosa should stand his ground as Trump is expected to be armed with lots of false information.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-62ZZnwXDE?si=YX5x3APJasIYPo_R

He says, “In our own context, our President was quick to respond to issues that pertained the American politics where the President of America had made comments in the media.”

“If our President doesn’t contain himself, we might see a worse situation than we saw when President Trump hosted President Zelenskyy.
So therefore, I would maybe suggest that the advisors of the President and the President himself go there having well prepared himself for any eventuality, because President Trump has a way of making sure that he ridicules his counterparts from other countries.” Mngomezulu adds.
