I want to try IVF for several reasons which reoccurence of adenomyosis is one of them.

If u are young and ur tubes are open, try the IUI yoursef at home. Aside sperm washing they do at fertility clinics, d process is basically d same. Check the last 3-4 threads u will see my post on local DIY IUI. All d best

I have done about 5 HSG since 2022 till early this year. Both tubes are patent.
DH semen analysis is very ok.
Maybe I will Read up the local IUI, I could be what we have been doing except for the trigger shot.

Good afternoon all. I am a first time dad. I am a bit confused on which hospital to my wife for antenatal.

There is Lagos Island Maternity Hospital which is a specialised hospital for pregnancy related issues, it is not too far but it will take about 15 to 20 minutes to get there, will need to enter keke and then a bus or order uber at about 3 - 4k.

The other option is the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute-Metta, it is less than 5 minutes away from my house, getting there will cost just about 100 to 200 naira with a keke or less than 1500 with uber.

Which would you advise us to with? The Federal Medical Centre or the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital?

The distance is not the major issue sha, although, I am also taking it into . My main consideration is getting the place to get the best possible service and a place that offers prompt, stress-free services, where my wife and our baby will be safe, and our minds can be at peace.

Your responses will be greatly appreciated, if possible, with your experiences

Disclaimer: I'm not at all in the medical field ... have no degree in anything ... but have been digging into topics I find interesting ... love watching documentaries... gathering information and processing them all to gain knowledge. This knowledge is what I'm about to share . I'mopen to challenges... and open to corrections and confirmations.

My main reason for opening this thread is because cancer is on the rise in Nigeria ... which most of us know through observation... but most of us don't know what it is ... and just a few can say how it is caused. How can we prevent a disease of we don't know what causes it?

Cancer begins with our DNA ... when the DNA in a cell gets altered or changed and the cell begins to do something different than it is supposed to be doing .... it becomes a werey cell ... or the cell mutates. Normally... the White blood cells be like Police and will soon neutralize it. But then ... the cell may go undetected ... just like a criminal ... multiply and form a group ... just like criminals link up and form gangs. This werey group may have their headquarters in the breast.... the growing lump that the woman feels in her breast is the rogue cells HQ she be massaging. These cells may have "branches" in other parts of the body ... and may be even like highway robbers.... be roaming in the blood.

What can cause the mutation in the first place? It is rarely hereditary... but mostly caused by external factors ... the foods we eat ... the air we breathe and the materials we are exposed to. Let's dive into this.
Foods. If we should ask our grandparents who they knew that had cancer or died of cancer ... they may say they once heard about someone who did. Why wasn't cancer common back then? Let's look at the foods they ate ... and what we eat. They ate natural foods... whether it be grains ... pigs or monkeys. We eat more and more processed or modified foods. The stuff in the foods not natural and this can affect the DNA and cause the cell to mutate ... turn into a cancer cell. The air we breathe .... most common ... we have a mosquito problem... we find the strongest spray to spray our rooms to kill the mosquitoes and be noasting of its effectiveness.... spray laden with carcinogens that we be breathing in ... instant death to the mosquito ... but start of a slow death for us. What did our grandparents and ancestors use for the same mosquitoes ?.... neem bush and other natural repellants. Materials we are exposed to .... the different chemicals we handle with our bare hands.... cement... asbestos... etc.

We hear a lot about the need to test for cancer ... but never be hearing how to prevent it. Why can't it be like malaria?... we are told to don't have stagnant water around .. use mosquito nets etc .... cholera .... to wash our hands etc ... COVID-19 to wear a mask etc.... but over the yearssss .. we're never once told what to do to prevent cancer. Isn't an ounce of prevention better than a pound of cure?" Why?

Cancer is a multi billion dollar industry. The War Against Cancer .... Race to find the Cure ... has been going on for decades. What has been achieved so far? Why COVID-19 in one year because of "new wayyy faster and better technologies?" ... same can't be applied to cancer? There is no intention to find a cure... that will be economic suicide. At the same time... anyone who comes up with a cure or alternative will be termed conspiracy theorists or asked to show official research and confirmation documentation. Did our grandparents do research and give details of the herbs they used to cure us of our various ailments?

Hospitals ... especially ours... are all about money. We go to a hospital.... lump in the breast .... which is almost always benign or just normal... 99 out of 100 times the doctor will seize that opportunity to milk you and let you know it is cancerous. But with our mentality that the doctor is always right ... no questions asked. There is Google at our finger tips ... read up and question the doctor. You will know when he is telling you BS and you need to move on. Fact you have cancer... what is the treatment?

Chemotherapy. This is another industry. How does Chemotherapy work? ... most of us don't know... but just know Chemotherapy is the treatment and sign up for it. Let me ask .... if your child has worms ... and a doctor recommends giving your child one teaspoon of sniper in a glass of water every morning before he eats .... will you give him? Why not? What will happen if he stops getting the treatment? Isn't it the worms will.come back? But at the same time while the worms are dying he is also dieing of poisoning. When he is dead.... would you say he died because of the worms?... or the sniper? Chemotherapy is similar to this ... it is poison that is prescribed to poison the blood with the hope that the poison will kill all the cancer cells. While the chemo is killing the cancer cells and other cells ... it is also killing you... but the focus is on the reduction of the cancer cells. You are told the cancer is in remission ... and after a while they take you off chemo. Then you are given the title "cancer survivor" which you wear like a badge of honor... and soon ... like the worms ... the cancer is back. Within five years of the treatment ... you're laying in the mortuary. Now what really killed you? ... was it the cancer?... or the chemo/poison?

Alternative treatments. There are natural remedies/cures for cancer. All have been slammed by the industry. Aloe Vera is one ... the species that bear a red flower.... most common remedy is soursop... the leaves most effective. They either reset the DNA in the werey cells to make them resume normal function or kill them. I know this work for a fact. Someone who was diagnosed with cancer... whose cancer level was being monitored ... began using sour sop leaf tea.... morning and night instead of the prescribed medication.... within two months the "cancer level test" showed such a significant decrease that the doctors were holding conferences to figure out how can that be... there must be something wrong. If you are or know anyone diagnosed with cancer ... then you may try same and see for yourself whether it is a fact ... or BS.

Lastly .... stats have shown that within 5 years .... only about 5% of patients survive chemo treatment .... and 90% survive alternative treatment. Think of who you know that did chemo ... and if they are still alive after 5 years.

A little journey down to 2020

We got married in 2020. We had our plans on childbirth. We wanted to wait for 3 months before starting a family. After those 3 months, we started trying and nothing was forth coming. It was a loonnnnngggggg journey!

Different hospital visits and appointments. Different tests, scans, etc. The overall outcome remains - nothing was wrong with both of us.

I was placed on different types of drugs - the side effects of those drugs were crazzzzyyyy.

I was gifted a book by my wonderful colleague (former) - Supernatural Childbirth. I read the book, digested it, made the confessions therein almost everyday.

One of the longest periods of a woman's life is waiting for the next cycle to see if she'll at least miss her period. The wait is always LONG!

Each time my period came, was always an emotional time for myself and hubby but along the line, my faith in God was built and I wiped my tears and told the devil ENOUGH! I'll not cry again! That was it!

Was it easy? NOOOOOOO! Not when people who got married after you are pregnant, giving birth left, right and center and the people are asking all manner of questions.

In all these, I had people who were genuinely praying for us and encouraging us - the "bestest" gift!

2021 - nothing! Not even a missed or delayed period!
2022 - same story!

Early 2023, I got a new job with better pay and work experience, so, I made up my mind to focus on the new job, I made up my mind to be more committed in the house of God and other plans to achieve.

Early February, I saw what I thought was blood stain so I went to get pad. The following day, nothing came, meanwhile, I was already feeling the normal PMS so, I thought to myself maybe the delay is due to stress from my new job. Waited for 2 more days and nothing!

I bought PT strip, did the test and saw one thick line and a small faint line - I did not know what to feel!

Repeated it the following day - same thing! I did not tell my husband all along. I snapped it and sent to my sister. She started rejoicing but I was skeptical. I did not want my hopes to be raised unnecessarily.

2 days later, did blood test and I was PREGNANT! Unbelievable! I did not know what to feel!

Valentine's Day celebration was close, I wanted to make it as a surprise announcement to my husband but. . . I could not wait

Told my husband that same night. It was emotional! We prayed, thanked the Lord and committed the journey of 9 months into his hands!

Indeed, God is faithful! Was the journey smooth? Not really but grace for the whole 9 months was supplied. I ened divine strength that sometimes I would have forgotten I'm carrying a child not until I feel tired, I'll have to remind myself to slow down.

1st trimester was a bit bumpy - nausea, tiredness, etc

2nd trimester was the easiest - I just dey fine, dey glow any how.

3rd trimeter - I was always tired but I enjoyed God's strength!

Labor and childbirth
Contractions started on the 12th of October - on and off. Went to work came back. Same thing on the 13th. I came back from work, entered the market to buy stuff, made egusi soup we had dinner. By few minutes past ten, the contractions were getting stronger by the minutes, I was thinking, I could manage it but hubby said we should head to the hospital.

Got there few minutes past 11pm, I was checked and I was just 2 cm. But the pains were not funny. I was there and from time to time, a nurse will come and check how far. It got to 6cm and then 8cm and then, my water was broken.

By 10am in the morning I was taken into the delivery room. I was told what to do but my brain was not processing anything because I was already tired and weak!

Time to push, I kept trying to push but it seems my strength was failing me - God bless the midwives! They were encouraging! THey kept praying for me!

My husband! Oh! God gave me the best of his sons! He was there all through - praying and encouraging me on! I don't know what I'll do without this great man!

After sometime of pushing, our princess arrived on the 14th of October at 12:56pm weighing 3.6kg.

In all, my heart is filled with gratitude to God for this wonderful gift.

Looking at her face as I type this morning, all I can say is God's word will always come to no matter what. She is a fulfilment of God's word for my husband and I.

I pray for those TTC, you'll carry your babies soonest!

All pregnant mommas, you'll deliver safely, without unnecessary stress.

Honestly, this TTC journey is so frustrating.
I wonder how I manage to put up smile on my face everyday.
It's 2 and half years of this journey and not even a missed period.
Just after ovulation, I get nipple pain and fuller breasts and I will be hoping it's good news on the way and suddenly AF shows up.

It is really frustrating.
I just can't stop crying over it.

your results are fine if i am seeing them correctly o, everything is within normal. Have you looked into other places like your tubes, transvaginal scan and oga’s SFA. Take it one day at a time, do the ones you can do leave the rest for Baba God.

The other said blocked tubes...
I did hydrogenation.
I have done TVS, result is fine.
DH has done SFA, all parameters are very ok.
