Good evening y'all ...

Pls I need honest opinions or advise from you all.

I recently got a mini bus for commercial purposes here in Lagos, but the few days that I operated on Lagos roads as been hell for me.

I mean, Fees paid to Nurtw and rtean guys daily is up to 3k. imagine am the one working, but another person is earning it. who does that?

me personally have not been able to save 3k a day because of this rubbish. I practically work for them.

imagine today, I was arrested by Lastma also, I had to pay 11,500 naira before my bus was released, I was using my seatbelt oo, including my enger in the front, and my door was locked. I have my route no already, so I see no reason why I was arrested, I tried to know the reason why I was stopped but all they could tell me is"Your bus is going to alausa today"..

I had to borrow the money (11500)from a fellow driver because I can't even save all this while because of the loot from this agbero guys.

I am not the only driver complaining about this shit, its making me uninterested in transportation again. I have worked for few days now and I don't have shishi as savings because of this loots. God forbid, what if the bus develops fault will still be running around looking for money? not as if am not working.

a fellow driver advised we should move to Ibadan that there is no disturbance of such over there. but I told him I will make inquiries before taking a step.

please nairalanders, is it advisable I move my bus there or is it still the same problem(agbero/road workers) over there?

thanks in advance

To be honest agbero palava in south west be like 5&6. But in recent times in Ibadan, am aware of a new mode of operation so as to help the union and (drivers and Co). A stable task force has been approved to eliminate extortion. How other agencies frsc, vio and police especially are dealing, that I cannot ascertain.

I'd advice you still stay in Lagos, cos Ibadan metropolis makes less use of buses. Na cabs dey run am.

Others fit get better talk for you. Wait, Make them come over.

Carry your bus to Akure.
The state Governor has suspended all the activities of the NURTW and the agberos

Get there first make enquiries with other bus drivers. They will definitely put you through based on 5 & 6. Don't just stay suffering in lagos for nothing. Or do you want Tolexander to go and make the enquiries too for you? He has given you the net already. Yours is to go fishing.

No even try Akure at all my brother. Bus no too common for Ondo state. For Ibadan, people are now getting use to cabs but all the same bus still operates and there are lesser disturbance from union guys. And also transportation is quite cheaper than where you are presently, mostly 50-100 a drop. If u get to IB u can try iwo road - sango(poly) garage, iwo road - challenge or stay around the market areas like Ogunpa, Agbeni, Academy and likes. These routes are busy ones with little to no agbero or union disturbing u especially dat iwo road - sango, iwo road - challenge route. You can just visit IB someday and go to these garages and see how they run. Most of Ibadan garages(park) are well organized and agbero activities so limited(Please note that i'm refrencing late Ajimobi period, neva bn dere for a while now).

I will advise you to put all your effort to getting to know Ibadan bro. That's the best option honestly. Bus isn't common here in Abeokuta, you'll hardly find buses in even Abeokuta CBDs like Oke Ilewo, Panseke, Isale igbeyin and all not to talk of other scanty less settled areas. Most of the buses i do come across here operates inside Mapoly, or Mapoly - Panseke kinda. Even in popular markets like Kuto, Olomoore and all, buses are not common sights.

I have no idea sir. Though most transport that operates inside campus must to with the SUG and school authority.

I think Lagos and Portharcourt are the only states encouraging buses, other states are into cab or shuttle. Have you considered plying interstate? Like Lagos to Ibadan or Lagos to Ogun. You can also change your route in Lagos.
