The North is useless whether you like to hear it or not. Most commodities brought from the north except beans are non staple foods. tomatoes, onions, paper, carrot etc are commodities we can do without. staple food in the East are cassava, rice, yam etc most of which are grown in the south.
North is actually poor in agriculture when you consider their terribly low demand for their own produce occasioned by poverty. Also the south is not doing very badly because their high demand for their own produce makes their success less visible. The idea that north feeds the country is a scam.

Sensible comment, let them b wallowing in ignorance, day don break already, Yoruba adage "Adaniloro nfi agbara koni" .

Yiu re not entrepreneurs,

If you leave nobody will feel it

And you have taken to criminality and that's unacceptable.

Keep your banditory and terrorism in the north. Any attempt to export it down here will be resisted and may lead to yiu guys getting launched on the streets.

If you like dint sell sorghum, or carrots to us that's ur buisness
Illiterate has taken over nairaland. Have you heard of garatu market in Niger state, the south can't produce half of the yam they sell on a daily bases, all this nairaland wannabe literate.

Ginger is the most easy to grow, even the one I planted in my backyard can open shop for a barrow pusher, like wise garlic, cucumber, garden egg are all product north don't have monopoly over
Every crisis is an opportunity for success

We have a tomatoes farm in Nnewi..

Anambra state made a lot of catching up in rice farming, beans is planted in ebonyi, thr is pineapple in my compound in Anambra, onions grow in the south. Yam grow in the south..

To show how daft this aboki running up and down here is...
Simple logic
How can a land in the sahel be more productive than a land invthe rain forest.. The north produce foods wit chemical fertilisers.... Our land is blessed we dont need to such to feed ourselves
Another illiterate spotted, the north is blessed with arable land. Which land is suited for agriculture??

Combine the whole south together, you can't produce half of the yam north produce, we use to see your people everyday in the market buying agricultural produce from our farmer, if what the south produce is enough, why do they buy from us, there is nothing that grows in south that does not grow in the north apart from some fruit, moreover who fruit EPP, watermelon is enough for me
God bless the northern oligarchs.

The fact that they buy in the north doesn't mean they don't have enough in the south. Just that they see it cheaper there's, same reason those importing rice and palm oil do because it's cheaper and not because its not available.

I have see lorries leave the south with processed cassava heading for the north.

I have seen lorries transport palm oil to the north.

I have seen lorries transport cashew mangoes paw paw , citrus, to the north.

I have seem lorries transport logs of wood to the north.

Those assertion that u feed the south should just stop already. If you re not willing to sell,, we will import from other places . This does not mean we wont sell to u guys and make money... Its business. It's just business

If truelly you through school and school did not through you, have you seen where reasonable crop grow on desert expect those group which require little or no water from the atmosphere since they have root that can go through the earth to search for water, a place that produce different variety of food you call a desert. Arable land need no fertilizer before crop can grow, if fertilizer is been use is because farming have been going long on the farm and nutrients lost need to be replenish.factors like bush burning, rainfall, erosion and the rest affect the soil.

That is how it suppose to be, after all avocardo is still my best fruit and I buy it here for a much higher price than when I was in the south (Lagos, Edo, ondo and osun)

The south want to go back to agriculture when the south have all left agriculture.

You can't train farmers in 1 week.

How many southerners can wait for harvest season lets imagine they plant corn today.

Wont they leave the farms and go pursue something that will give them instant cash.

The reality is, you can't make people into farmers.
I don't understand you. Do you think some of us do not know about farming?
The only problem are Criminal Herders
ChimaAdeoye: 3:44pm On Feb 28, 2021

Southerners should confront fulani herdsmen and embrace farming. I will be uproating cassava this evening. The north should stop bringing us food

Their agenda for sending herdsmen from all over Africa into farms in southern Nigeria is to totally destroy agriculture in southern Nigeria and make it easy to conquer southerners.

Their plot is now visible to everyone who had doubted this plan for ages. The southerners should therefore totally prohibit open grazing on their farms and rise to the challenge of feeding its people.

Not to mention that petroleum products must be stopped from going to Fulani areas too.

see all the stupid foods u mentioned.

When you talk about foods call

Cassava,

Yam

Palm oil,

Rice,

Vegetables.

And I see u foolishly included pineapple and citrus plants.

Till today as we speak. Vehicles still move pineapples pawpaw and citrus to the north.

When u talk about fruits and vegetables count the north out.

The only thing that grows in ur lands re nuts
Nuts that we also have here. Groundnuts do well in my village.
North should keep their food. We buy it not as if they bring them to is free.

Irrigation is only practice during the dry season as a means to ensure continuous farming, which is a common practice around the world, so what your point??, is it all region in the south that experience rainfall through out the year??. If truelly you are not an illiterate, you would have known that each plant has a requirements that needs to be met before it can grow, that why some crop grow well in some region and don't grow in another region. I hope you learn something today.
