It sounds like the money was deposited into your instead of being used for a domain purchase directly.

You can use that balance to pay for any purchases that it can cover, though.

Check if the name is still available for registration, if yes the error is from you but if not available definitely someone got it before you.

If it's not showing under ed domains in your , I am afraid someone else might have snapped it up, especially if it's a just-dropped domain name.

You may also check the whois info to see if it's ed for you.
