Hi guys...
I want to appreciate Whyna and also congratulate her on her hard earned success in a foreign land.
I've been following this tread since the very first day she started and I don't think I've skipped a page, which is rare for me. So yeah, to Whyna and everyone that has kept this place rocking and bustling... Good job, y'all deserve a bottle of Heineken.

That said...
I would have love to tag some post which are as much as discouraging, but also helps. However, I decide to push this out for all and sundry.
As much as someone might condemn the move to Viet, I believe I'll condemn a move to Canada, UK and the United States than I will to Viet, Thai, Indo...

Thing is, if we all go to CA, US, UK, EUROPE, we all can't make it. Our luck work differently. It took my sister's over 35 years in London before she could build her first standard house in Nigeria. I have a friend in Viet, who had only spend 2 years and has a house already in am expensive place in fact. I have another friend in Viet, who's without a degree, he managed his way into starting a school and he's good - although he'll never advice you to take that step. So, apparently, it's an individual journey.

Moreover, when you're panning out a journey as this with all this negatives in mind, the best thing you do is go online, it's a global village, and find solutions to this. In this year alone, I've gotten messages, from expat group member who think I'm in the country and how well I speak and relate with them all -they've offered me job and even invite me to coffee... I just tell em I'm not back in the country.

And guess what... Some of us are not even planning to teach as the main hustle. One thing I'll always tell my friends of friends is that, don't run from Nigeria because you're poor. Only run when you have the right skills, mindset, and you've enjoyed this country as much.

If you take your time to research, you'll see that there's more to an emerging economy than teaching. Have a long term plan if you're planning on staying there a while. Map of those plan.

I do not believe for one that the color of my skin will deny me the right job. I've black ghanians, Cameroons who I met online and they live very fine in Viet.

To kill this off once and for all...
Viet is more preferable for some of us than the other. For instance, if you're a programmer and you majority work from home for international bodies. Low-cost economies are great...
With #45k a month, you can have a nice house
Feed off less than 50k a month... And you can manage a job for offline purpose, while you grow a large business on the side.

Get yourself a skill, push in when you get there... Connect as much as you can... Shake hands, change the narratives... YOU CAN!

Another thing is, the last thing we want here is someone telling us that this is a RISK. OF COURSE WE KNOW, and that's life when you decide to dive in a ocean, YOU EITHER SWIM OR DROWN - your choice.

In the mean time guys, I'm enjoying the best of Nigeria till VIET hugs me with a green card. Let's continue to fill ourselves with positivity... Be GREAT!
