7pm is too early to lock the Gate for the night, it should be around 10:30pm or 11pm at the maximum.
Moreover, if you work late, you could arrange to have a copy of the key to the gate so you can quietly let yourself in.
Some of you think your chicken Change House rent is so important and makes you the House owner, l laugh in Chinese.

If any tenant destroys my property as you stated above, he will be out faster than he can imagine and he will pay dearly for such damage.
I love my Tenants and would do anything to assist them but God help me if l meet one like your type (I am sure it wont even happen because l screen Tenants properly before agreeing to rent to them and my agreements is tight enough to put you out at the minimum time), l will show you real pepper.
We never leave my gate open, it is always locked and every tenant has a Key to let themselves in but by 11pm, that offer ends, it is DOUBLE-locked for the night. If you cant be home by 11pm, please stay wherever you are and come back by 6am next morning, you wont die for not sleeping on your bed for one night but it might just save your life. The safety of my tenants concerns me as my own safety.

If you love freedom, you would have built your own house by now.
You cant control what you dont own.
Tenants like you are the types that want the free hand to behave anyhow and spoil your Landlords property, if you are a decent person, you wont mind living in the same house as your House owner afterall, your intention is not to spoil the place.
Always use a rented apartment, as if it is your own house, that way you wont have a problem with your House Owner.

My landlady prefer to paste instructions on the doors, tap, heater etc like close the tap properly Knock before you open clean ur shoes before coming in, timetable for putting on heater and maximum u can put it

Thankfully no crazy rules apart from no noise and come in before 11pm

No rules per se but this woman was a trouble maker. An old American woman wey don attract beating from previous tenants due to her never-ending troubles.

Moved out this month before she turns my life in Canada to a criminal one. Me wey never go police station before.

It's just hard to believe, maybe u stay in a cheap apartment that's why, if not imagine me paying 1. 5 million on rent yearly and one idiot called a landlord comes to frustrate me, I will just collect my money jejely and move elsewhere

While some of the rules are unreasonable, you can't blame some landlords/landladies. It is still tenants that turn people's house to cultist den, kidnappers hideout etc, I visited a building once after a tenant packed out and the kitchen looked like they were using firewood to cook in a modern house, some house owners spend all the rent and more on repairs after a tenant parks out. Just wait when you become a landlord or landlady come back and read/review your comments

Generators were not allowed overnight, it has to be off latest by 12midnight. Fast forward to a year the landlady's son brought his wife and newborn twins home from the States. They (landlady and son) were now putting on gen overnight. As if the tenants did meeting, they just started using theirs too overnight one by one (what's good for the goose is good for the gander). When they left, people refused to go back to that yeye rule.

Honestly speaking I'm not against the 12am no gen deadline. After a certain time generator sets can become a nuisance. And depending on where your apartment is located, one unlucky tenant would just be getting all the noise. I've been in that situation before. The Landlady messed up not sticking to rule, or atleast informing you guys.
