Zamfara Gold Mining: South-South Governors To Meet On Monday (43479 Views)

Tareq1105:Whose money Dundee, was it their ancestors that put the natural resources there in the earth? Ordinary refinery the Useless South South States can’t build tly, or severely, yet Dangote & Abdulrahman Rabiu are building private refineries, what all those useless South South governors just do from 1999 till date, is wait for monthly Statutory allocation, & use the money to pay state workers that did not add nada whatsoever to the value to the allocation, then mismanage & steal the remainder money. |

Your submission makes no sense! Zamfara went after what's in the land so how can oil states leave oil and go for gold in another state? There should be 100% resource control because what is good for Zamfara is good for other states. Same law of equality should apply

Tareq1105:Let me buttress your misconstrued point, & see whether it makes any sense to you: The resources belongs to them? That means the oil & gas found in Ughelli South, belongs to only the indigenes of the Local Government?, The Oil & Gas found in Warri North belongs only to the indigenous people of Warri North, not the whole Delta State? Because the oil & gas is the property of your great grandfather? All resources underneath the end belongs to the Federal Government (We the People Of The Federal Republic of Nigeria). |

marisd:Ignorance is not an excuse, in future you would say that you were not aware, there was a gold rush, & other solid minerals going on in Northern Nigeria for years now, financed by foreigners, mostly the Chinese which needs urgent legislation & regulation which in turn is fueling large scale criminality in the region. |

Stop using the word feeding Nigerians as if the food is given to Nigerians for free! Infact the North is exploiting Nigerians by selling above market price in the world. How can Thailand rice be over 50% cheaper and far more superior in of quality than Northern rice?

Re: Zamfara Gold Mining: South-South Governors To Meet On Monday by Nobody: 9:52pm On Nov 14, 2020 |
DMerciful: Sorry if it was misunderstood, they're feeding Nigeria at a price but it's not like we can't survive without them. Understand that all rice farmers in the north are not all northerners, there are also southerners who have rice farms in Niger state for example. the issue of pricing is partly to do with the exploitative nature of the average Nigerian, middle men and the border closure, even some farmers here in the South would still sell at the same price as goods brought from the north despite their farms being close to market, Aside from all this most youths here in the South aren't really interested in core farming and even if the border is opened we'll still depend on the north for most agric produce. If South really wants to compete it should go back to it's agricultural roots instead of building housing estate upandan |
DMerciful(m): 10:01pm On Nov 14, 2020 |
So if for instance we import food produce from Ghana, you'll say Ghana is feeding Nigeria at a price? I have issue with the word feeding! Feeding is absolutely not the right word, you can say selling! TheLionofLasigi:

DMerciful: okay, they're "selling" food to Nigeria..I only used feeding as it seems that the South is currently dependent on them for most of it's agricultural produce. |

DMerciful: It's like asking me if the oil they drill out of the oil well belong to the oil companies like Shell, Chevron and so on. Oil drillers get operating license from the government to drill oil, gold miners get operating license to mine gold. The FG collects taxes and royalties off every oz of gold mined. Zamfara is not selling any gold to the FG, they are storing the gold they bought as gold reserve, you and your own state too can buy gold and store it as gold reserve, it's perfectly legal, it's not a crime, it's a business opportunity. It's not different from Nigerians investing and trading in oil and gas or operating petrol stations. Instead of getting in there to take advantage of this business opportunity, the lazy governors are crying over nothing. Their silly monday noise and y gathering will come and go without any effect or relevance beyond wherever they gathered to eat poundo and drink pami. Useless and lazy governors still can not invest and tap into the oil under their feet, but they are wagging fingers at other people for tapping into the resources on their land. |

You can only deceive zombies! The deputy Senate president confirmed the proposed sale to CBN! https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/10/15/omo-agege-faults-zamfara-govs-sale-of-gold-to-cbn/ NGpatriot: |
NGpatriot: 10:39pm On Nov 14, 2020 |
DMerciful: Because it's a business and money making opportunity and it's completely legal. Nigerians from every corner of Nigeria are buying and selling oil and oil products, they building refineries to process oil bought from oil producers, they have petrol stations all over the country so please explain to us why the SS states are yet to tap into the oil business under their feet. These lazy governors only know how to make noise, but they are all useless, all they know how to do is sit around and collect allocations, derivations and embezzle NDDC funds. |

favor914: Your analysis at the end is very wrong. Totally wrong. The oil at Ughelli and Warri North belongs the respective communities. The oil companies recognized this fact and always engage the host communities. The resources in Texas are being managed by Texas . Nigeria is a geographical entity created by the British. The British operated Nigeria based on Federalism and regional government. That is the foundation of Nigeria. That system does not make resources in a region the property of all the regions making up Nigeria. There are States in the US that are richer than . University of California's annual budget is almost the same with Nigeria's Annual budget because US practice true Federalism, States manage their resources. That was the system the Colonial Masters handed over to Nigeria at Independence. The present system is very exploitative and oppressive. The owners of oil become slaves at NNPC while the parasites manage the resources. It is this anger and frustration that you witnessed in Lagos during the EndSARS riot 2 Likes |

We are not dependent on them. Tell me the good crop grown in the north that the south cannot grow? When a woman employs a maid to do laundry, it does not mean she cant do laundry but will earn more with her time if she pays someone to do it!

babaolofin:Which States in the US handles their resources? & what resources are you referring to?, why compare Nigeria with another country that has its own laws? America encourages homosexuality, must we copy their system action for action, States in Nigeria control their resources. Human capital is a resource & actually the most important, IT is also a resource, not just natural resources, how many of the top 10 American billionaires are natural resource wealthy, the way you keep shouting Texas as if oil magnate Thomas Boone Pickens was ever amongst the richest men in the US? No one has stopped the states in Nigeria from harnessing anything, only lazy people find an excuse for their failure. Who controls the oil & gas resource in Saudi Arabia & other OPEC countries, individuals or the state? Who controls the natural resources in Russia, Putin or Individuals? Please when next you choose to give an example, take a look at the 2 sides of your point critically, before you conclude as if the US is the only country that can be used as a yardstick in the industrialized world that produces oil & gas. |

babaolofin:The oil & gas in Norway is controlled by the state like NNPC Nigeria through Equinor ASA (formerly Statoil and StatoilHydro), is a Norwegian state-owned multinational energy company headquartered in Stavanger, & is primarily a petroleum company, operating in 36 countries with additional investments in renewable energy. By revenue, while under Statoil name, Equinor was ranked by Forbes Magazine (2013) as the world's eleventh largest oil and gas company and the twenty-sixth largest company, regardless of industry, by profit in the world, The company has about 20,200 employees. The current company was formed by the 2007 merger of Statoil with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro, Similar to NNPC, As of 2017, the Government of Norway is the largest shareholder with 67% of the shares, while the rest is public stock, The ownership interest is managed by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and EnergyThe company is headquartered and led from Stavanger, while most of their international operations are currently led from Fornebu, outside Oslo. See your argument about state control of resources & NNPC holds no water whatsoever, incompetence, & mismanagement, not structure is what is killing Nigeria, do new research before you open your basket void medulla next time, Mumu. |
