Sometime ago, I read somewhere that the reason most Sars officers and some Policemen tie red clothes to the nozzles of their rifles is that even if the criminal has if the criminal has charms protecting him, if the Policemen use the gun with red cloth to fire, the bullet must enter. The alternative is to dip the nozzle of the gun in sand and fire, it must enter.

As there are charms to avoid bullets, there are also charms to force the bullet to enter. That balances the equation.
