it's not true. Most of them don't have other jobs. Nteach beneficiaries went to work everyday. They didn't even have time for themselves, let alone setting up businesses. And most of the beneficiaries were N-Teach. One of them even committed suicide in Ibadan on hearing that they would go in this June.

They didn't even give them a breathing space to do other things. Head teachers and principals wouldn't even allow N-Teach beneficiaries to rest. If they failed to come to work, they would report them immediately. I would have agreed with you if the money was given in bulk to them.

I think the money for the batch B device had been embezzled. Because I learnt they had made arrangement with central bank as regards the device and nothing was forthcoming till now. Everything is naked in God's presence.

2. What is the fate of those who have already started a family based on earnings from NPOWER? I know couples who are both Npower beneficiaries.
3. Why exit beneficiaries without clearly stating out what the transitioning package would be? I guess the promise of transitioning is just another scam, a political strategy to maintain calm and order. As for me, stipends ought not to stop until Farouk is sure of what's coming up for the disengaged beneficiaries
4. In Nigeria today, it is almost impossible for beneficiaries to save something substantial to start a living out of 30k monthly stipend. Again in my own opinion, part of the money, say 5k, should have have been deducted on a monthly basis and be given to beneficiaries at the end of program.
5. How do you think that someone who has earned 30k monthly for 2 years would readjust back to earning nothing? Perhaps by resulting to crimes to maintain standard of living??

Oga, how long was the program to last? I don't get why people fail to use rationality when things concern the government. It's an internship not a life 'free meal ticket', so I don't get why people are blaming the government after all they've done.
The 108k plus citizens that went on to start their own businesses do they have 2 heads or more?
I'll say this any day all day, Most of the people complaining are LAZY and selfish.

I dont get the transitioning and exiting part. Is it only batch B that has exited ?

Nobody can save from N30k monthly. They go to work, eat and feed themselves. The government should have given the money in bulk and tell the beneficiaries to use it to set up businesses. Do you know that if you don't go to work, they'll quickly put you on hold for a month, after which if your reply to their query doesn't convince them enough, they'll sack you. Those that started business connived with them, or probably they had businesses before they got NPower, and they also gave them some money every month, to avoid being sacked. Some used theirs to complete Master's and PhD programmes. Don't you know that N30K is N1000 everyday? If given in bulk is a huge amount of money, but if given as a stipend of N30K, it's not saveable.

You are right anyways, the money isn't much. T-fare, feeding and some miscellaneous. But mind you, the way we are wired differs, I have someone who can spend 2k or less for a week in order to achieve whatever he wants to. You cut your clothes according to your size. See, if we don't have cash at hand nor where reachable we'll survive in one way or another, it's all about discipline.

We men are being brought up to overcome any circumstances that comes our way.

Yes, it's possible.
There are people that live on 10k salary and they are doing fine (at least,the feed and also pay rents). It depends on your location and ability to manage your little resources.


I've survived on 8k salary with a wife and kid and we didn't die.(Though,it was a struggle ,life itself is a struggle until you succeed)
