Let’s not over-inflate the impact of the H1b because it makes us feel better.

Here is my last point on this issue... >85% of H1b holders are indian, if these foreign workers were so crucial to google, Apple etc. then please explain why India has not created its own version of those companies and simply provides cheap labor?

This is your line of reasoning.

Let us not inflate the impact of black NFL players in the NFL because it makes us feel better.

Here is my last point on this issue... 70% of NFL players are black, if these players are so crucial to the Chiefs, Patriots, Ravens, etc. then please explain why there are no black owners of NFL teams?

Sorry to say... Canada and the UK have had similar liberal immigration policies. In fact I’d argue that until 1990, the US immigration policy was far more insular, so exactly why aren’t those countries as powerful as the US economically?

While it is true that America gives an opportunity to recruit the very best around the world, the frank truth is that >98% of h1b applicants are simply average and no better than the average American. For every Elon Musk, we have hundreds of thousands of average economic migrants who simply use the H1b as an avenue to emigrate to the US.

Let’s not over-inflate the impact of the H1b because it makes us feel better.

Your views on this issue, although correct to some extent, are nevertheless not all there is to say as the reason H1B workers are in the US. I still stand by my words. But yes, let's just forget it, because at the end of the day, America is not our Fatherland. Nigeria is grin

I was accepted to Stanford University for a degree in Civil Engineering. More specifically Computational Geomechanics. So I can't really say for sure on which schools are the best for Geology, because they're not exactly the same. But I think schools in South should have greater prospects and greater funding, most especially Texas and other neighbouring states. But first you'll need to take the GRE, and evaluate your chances based of your university transcripts.
I hope you don't mind, what's your profile like especially Gre scores?

What if someone that has a background in Ms Biochemistry/Chemistry in USA and wants to switch over to Pharmacy, what will be your advice? Will enrolling into Pharm.D. be a good entry point?

Obinoscopy:
Your first step is to write FPGEE. But to write FPGEE, you'll need to write TOEFL and also send in your transcript and license to NABP for evaluation. Hopefully you can get all that done before the end of the 3rd quarter so that you can write the FPGEE Exam. The mark for TOEFL is usually very high, especially for the Speaking section, so you need to seriously prepare for it.

Concerning job, I'll recommend you apply for sales job with chain pharmacy stores like CVS, Walgreens and then work your way up. You can start as just a sales clerk in the Stores section and then request to be transferred to the Pharmacy section. You can also become a certified pharmacy technician as well.

After ing the FPGEE, the next step is to write both NAPLEX and MPJE in the State you intend to practice as a pharmacist. You'll also be required to be an Intern for close to a year. After internship and ing the NAPLEX and MPJE exams, you then become a pharmacist.

All these takes nothing less than 2 years

I need an advice from the experts here. I was recently itted for fall 2020/2021 with about 40% funding, but I would like to defer the ission to next year. My question now is which of the ission circles should I defer to for a better chance to retain my current funding and other considerations if possible?

Depends on your program and the school, but if your program department doesn't accept students in Spring (and they are not willing to relax this policy due to the pandemic and take in affected student for Spring), then Fall 2021 is your best shot. Also, your department to ask if you will lose your funding if you move your ission forward.
Meanwhile, you can also use the time to try other schools.

Hello guys,
I'm a graduate student in the U.S. I'm a Pharmacist by profession. I'm really new to this environment and I'm trying to start on the right foot. I need advice/details on how to practice as a Pharmacist in the U.S (i.e. exams I could take). I also need a job I can use to myself. Please kindly assist me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I am in sort of similar position as you.

I'm in my fourth year pharmacy undergraduate back in Nigeria but would like to practise where you are after I graduate.

Do you mind if I keep in touch with you smiley You'll be of immense help to me when my time comes.

God bless you as you reply

If the person got the MSc Biochemistry/Chemistry degree from the USA, then yes, he or she should enrol into the Pharm. D program.
