Please @Venz..al, I sent a proposal to a client(Nigerian) on buyer's request and he is requesting that I should be an marketer for his website, I don't have any idea on how to go about this. Should I withdraw from this offer or are there any ideas you can drop.. That would give me an hint on what to do.
They will pay you commissions for sales you make, not the WORK you do. As a newbie, I'd avoid that. For now, only look for email copywriting jobs. With time you can start adding other packages to your service offering.

1)Yet to begin the daily email writing exercise
2)yet to startup a freelance
3)yet to start practicing
intend to start number 1 tomorrow and number 3 by weekend after going through my notes and gaining clarity on some areas.
so far, one fact I've been made to understand in addition to email copywriting principles and directives... is that writing a good proposal is key to getting offers.
please while ing previous works (whether real jobs taken or not) to upwork profile portfolio, is it acceptable to it the way it was supposedly delivered to that previous client, without removing the link or name of the particular product that was being sold or d there?
Standard practice requires that you ask a client after working with them if it's okay to display your work for them as a sample. Some will agree and tell you to redact the copy by taking out the name of their product and even their names.
Most freelancers don't ask, though (I am guilty of this too).
In that case, it'd be up to you to decide whether to display the name or not.

How can one get that grammerly software... because I have the usual one and it works for me
The one leaves the free version in the dust. It does a lot more advance corrections.
Search on eBay to get it at a lesser price until when your business is producing enough income to buy it directly from Grammarly's website.

Email Deliverability expert

Want to run a cold emailing campaign through a product like Woodpecker or milkshake.
Looking for someone to setup up and execute emailing campaign.
We have a new domain and new email address and a list.
We are also using Klaviyo and the site is built on Shopify.
Want to start the project immediately
Oga venzal please help throw more light on the bolded
Okay...
So Cold Emailing is a different ballgame entirely.
First, what this client is looking for is not an email copywriter but an email deliverabilty expert. So you shouldn't be interested in this.
But let's talk about cold emails.
Cold emails are emails sent out to a prospect or email addresses that didn't give you the PERMISSION to do so.
In other words, they didn't opt in to your email list to receive your emails. But you somehow scrapped or nabbed their emails from someplace and started sending them emails.
That explanation should suffice for now.

Good morning Ven.zal and to all the gurus in the house.
I saw a job post on upwork yesterday and decided to try my hands on it,though I didn't submit proposal for it. please help me check it out.
Topic:Health benefits of laughter.
About two centuries ago,Joel was diagnosed "terminally ill".He has a little chance of survival and was given few months to live.
All known medical solutions were tried...
...some were effective for a while but the disease kept resisting the efficacy of the medications istered to him.
All he could reflect on was how worry, anger and depression contributed to,and probably helped cause, his disease. He began to wonder if, " if illness could be caused by negativity, can positivity attract sound health?
He decided to make an experiment of himself. One of the most positive activities he knew was laughter. He gathered all the funny movies he was never interested in like, Keaton,Chaplin, fields, the Marx brothers(this was before VCRs). He read funny stories .He asked his family clan to call him whenever they said, heard or did anything funny.
The agony caused by this disease was so great he couldn't sleep. After watching a very funny movie that made him laugh for 10 solid minutes non-stop,he found out that he was relieved and able to sleep for few hours!
He constantly indulge in making himself available at any slight opportunity to laugh. He was fully recovered and live more productive and healthy years.
Laughter is a luxury, they say,a frivolity, something to indulge in only every so often.
A research carried out in a Norwegian university in 2006 shows that people with a sense of humor have a 30 per cent better chance of survival when severe disease strikes.
Laughter has been shown to:
•Lead to reduction I stress hormones such as cortisol and epinephrine
•Boosts the number of antibody producing cells and enhances the effectiveness of T-cells ,leading to a stronger immune system.
You like laughter?
Consider it a sound medical advice to indulge in as often as you can.
You rarely laugh?
Then taken your medication but it is adviceable to take advantage on its health benefit and stop popping those medicines with side effects.
Use whatever makes you laugh- sitcoms, movies, jokes and friends.
Give yourself permission to laugh- loud and loud and out loud(lots of it)-whenever anything strikes you as funny. People around you may think you're strange, but sooner or later they'll in even if they don't know what you're laughing about.
Some diseases may be contagious, but none is as contagious as the cure...laughter.
Was it an email copywriting job or an article writing job?

Booooom!!!...
I have been strolling through the streets of Upwork in the last two days...
Trying to get a grasp of the deep water, trying to learn the ropes... before DIVING in fully!
I hardly came across clients seeking email copywriters to write individual copies for them...(maybe I wasn't searching correctly)
I saw so many clients wanting email sequences...
I couldn't decipher clearly if they wanted just the copies written in sequence and sent to them in MS Word...
or they want the sequence copies to be sent by the freelancer to various prospects in their list using an ESP.
Kindly explain this confusion to me... Please show me the silver lining...I am just starting out.
Thanks
@Ven.zal @Ven.zal1 @Mhiz.austa... and anyone that can help.
When you hear sequence, that's what I was referring to when I said email copywriting jobs come in volume.
If email copywriting was mostly all about single emails, it wouldn't be an attractive project. The beauty is in the numbers.

I like it. Not a bad attempt. You grow as your write more.
Just one thing;
Be careful ing profanities when writing for clients. Many people on their list will consider it offensive.
Check first with a client before using that.
And even if you must use profanities make sure it's semi-censored e.g sh!t should be sh*t.

https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01a052fa2067014d71?viewMode=1
I HOPE EVERYONE PAYS ÀTTENTION TO THIS:
When it comes to writing your profile overview on Upwork and any other such platforms, you want to demonstrate AUTHORITY.
SHOW that you assuredly do know what you are talking about.
Think of it this way:
If you wanted to get treatment for an ailment and you meet two people in a public... they both claim that they are doctors... they both have doctor gowns on... how would you know who to go with?
Simple, describe your symptoms and watch both of them talk.
The one that UNDERSTANDS your problem the most is the one you will go with.
So on your profile display your authority in your chosen field by talking about the problem a client is encountering. Speak their lingo. That's how you grab their ATTENTION, get them INTERESTED, ramp up DESIRE, and get them.to ACT.
Lawnray, you should work on strengthening this overview.

Wow congrats!
I think I need a change of strategy; it will now be "ready! Shoot! Aim!" no need to wait until after the 66days of hand copying Ben's emails.
Ven.zal has always said you learn on the job, just like driving a car-you get pretty good while practising.
So guess it's time to revise with upwork, then re-write 4 emails copies from the 50 piece venal sent us..
$120 is huge brov.
Happy for you, now make sure you over deliver- exceed his expectations.
More greens!
That's the spirit. When our fathers said "experience is the best teacher" they weren't joking. The best knowledge you will get will come on the job.
One lady from my previous thread did $12k in her second year on Upwork. The first client she worked with as a virtual assistant taught her a lot. She later started to use what she learned from that client.to apply for other jobs.

Hello sir, good morning.
Sending a winning proposal is a very key aspect of getting jobs, first of all, clients does not want to know the thousands of years you have been working as a graphics designer or stuff, they just want to know if you have done something similar to theirs and can get theirs done well, I see a lot of people write "I have been working as a Video editor for the last 6 years, and I have a degree in bla bla bla", clients are not interested in your life story, in fact, most clients read only the first 2-3 lines of your proposal cos they usually have many more to read, they don't have that time, so your first 2 lines should be what you spend time on, do not copy and paste proposals on every job you see, craft and modify each proposal to suite the job you are applying for, most times, you have a very short time to do so, always make sure your proposal is amongst the first 5, or 10 latest, anything above that, your chances to land that job has lowered, also, take the focus away from you when submitting a proposal and put the focus on the client and the job, introduce yourself very briefly, and then go straight to what you can offer them, tell them what you will be doing to their project, and what they will get if they hire you, try as much as possible to take out "I" from your proposal, Eg, instead of saying
"I will add a professional graphic title to your video to highlight the point"
why don't you make it like this
" just watched your footage and Your job requires a professional graphic to highlight the point"
This way, you have told them what you intend to do without using "I" while shifting the attention to the job.
don't base on how much experience
Thanks alot sir. You are a national treasure.

Your input have so far been helpful!
I will like to ask, someone going into video editing, what area should one focus on as a beginner?
Video editing is kinda wide. & can one start this only with Premiere or one should equally have good knowledge of after effect to get started? Thanks.

Graphics design is also very good if u re good at it. I think it is best u go for something u have a flair for, while using this thread as guide, than go for something u have little or no interest in. When challenges come if there is no interest, u can't sail through. I maybe wrong though
