yes you have to submit it at the servicon office, the invite is usually done in a day or two for capturing

I was at the Ikoyi port office today, and the requirement for the modification of name are the following:
1. marriage certificate
2. newspaper publication
3. change of name affidavit
4. receipt of payment for name change on NIN.
* for number 4 above, you either pay online totaling like 670-700 or you pay 1000 at the people at the desk, and trust me, those people in charge of this thing take money like water. in my presence, a woman paid 5000 just for registration and they even ask her to come back tomorrow.
i am also going back tomorrow for my modification, i got there quite late today, number shared for people doing NIMC has finished before i got there.

You have to submit your application with all required documents at their office. If you get there early enough with complete documents, you could be captured same day.

But I must tell you, its not as straightforward as that. You have to practically outsmart them with sweet talks or you'll have to come back another day for something that won't take 15mins. I witnessed a guy that speed-ran documents submission to capturing in less than 30mins. Didn't wait for SMS for capturing. I was impressed.

His advice: 7am is 7am

I am at Ikoyi port office right now. Only those who want to apply to port are allowed in. If you tell them you want to get your national ID card, they will tell you to go to another NIMC branch.


Meaning that they will allow you do your NIN if only you apply for you port directly from them.

Still trying to find my way aha. I prefer getting the NIN and then apply for the port online, rather using any agent

When you go to the port office with your complete documents, proceed to the servicom section , they will check your documents, arrange them and put them in an NIS branded brown file.

The file is an official file especially for those that are self processing. Others have a white file.

It is online. Just google search, u will be asked to input your reference no, validation and application number to gain access to d forms

Since January 6th I did capturing in ILORIN, my port is still yet to be out. They always give flimsy excuse that it is because of covid 19 and no booklet...

If you hear under sun and in the rain.
I was not able to get into port office yesterday, because the nimc centre said they are attending to port related issues, even though mine was port related as well, numbers were given out to people 1-50, and we later discovered those people paid. after getting enough beating from the rain I left.

please whoever is going to ikeja should please update us on how things are there.

Yes, enrollment is going on at Ikoyi office.

You don't have to wait for SMS before paying online, pay whenever you are ready.
But you do have to wait for SMS to go for capturing after you enroll.
