Theg do it because of open mindedness because other ethnic group suspect them. If you are in midst of people that don't understand Ur language the best u can do is to lower Ur voice or change to English to make dem feel among. Hmmm.....hope the 'clearing' does not mean deforestation. To fell trees to plant cassava is not wise from an ecological point of view.

Hopefully there won't be any deforestation, such that these dozers are used for clearing grassland and thicket. Deforestation truly is a very bad practice that comes with long-term negative repercussions.

Igbos are travel for business and it's expected of them to understand the Host community languages.

In SE, Yorubas and Hausas traders speaks English to Igbos to be able to communicate with them.
They don't understand the language

But in South west and north, it is expected for the Igbos and other tribes to understand Yoruba or Hausa to be able to trade with them.

In South south, you trade via pidgin English or plain English.

How can you still tell me igbo is widely spoken after Hausa
