I don’t think your guy is far from the truth. How can he take you to his cousins’ wedding, only to hear that you were fighting with someone? To worsen the situation, the fight was about food. Something you should have easily walked away from. You embarrassed the guy. He is not to blame here.

She didn't fight over food, she was fought with over food. Someone handed her food at a party, was she supposed to reject it? Once she had started eating, the organizer working with the caterer should have just let the matter slide. The woman that wanted to collect someone else's half eaten food to serve to someone else is the cause of the problem here. Her mistake was replying in kind, she should have just kept her cool considering she's in the midst of her prospective in-laws. A sincere apology and solemn promise to her boyfriend that she will conduct herself better in public when food is involved should salvage the relationship.

I was at a party today with my bf ..it was his cousin's wedding... After everything and it was time for food at the reception... My bf was greeting some guests and the caterer sharing the food brought me rice...I just took a spoon and behold I saw a woman behind the caterer saying the food isn't for me.. I told her am eating already I can't release the food anymore... Then she began shouting at the caterer before I knew it..people were gathering and I politely told her to leave the caterer alone since she made a mistake but she faced me instead....I was furious and we rained insult on each other..my bf had to drag me away from there...
He took me outside and said all sorts of things to me , even called me a glutton without knowing what really happened...And he said he was tired of my eating attitude and needed a break ..The painful part was when he said all the food I eat goes to waste without it showing in me..I was really hurt and I left there angrily...but I was really ashamed because his mum was there....

He's not supposed to break up with you just like that, but you should have known that you came there with a man and quarrelling because of food is so embarrassing. His friends or family may use this to muck him sometimes. Give him some time and try apologising to him. You can send him text messages to explain what truly happened and that you're sorry for embarrassing him like that. Tell him you love him so much and that it won't ever happen again. Maybe he might loosen up but you are supposed to just drop the food, no matter how hungry you were.

You can actually keep shut. It doesn't take anything from you or reduce you to anything lower. None of the insults will inflict injuries in your skin. People who are there may even be your voice and speak for the quiet girl who is too decent to wash her dirty underwear outside. Now, see what your not keeping shut has caused.
