Hello NurzCee,

In the UK, an organization called NARIC does what is called "mapping" on international certificates to compare it with the UK academic system. Most Nigerian Nursing Diploma certificates don't measure up to the UK diploma Certificate to proceed with the BSC Top Up instantly, they measure up-to level 3; whereas you need a level 5 to proceed with BSC Top Up. Hence, the need for a sort of bridge program to level up. No one is issued an Associate Certificate, what Cowbelly is saying in essence is that our diploma certificates don't measure up to the required level after Mapping.
NurzCee:

Are u a ed nurse? If yes, RN or BscN? For UK that I'm very sure about. They don't require any associate certificate. Let the person that told u so send the link here, so I can take a look at it. I have my own links if u wanna take a look at it

Thanks, unfortunately the conversation didn't hold again. Needed to his story, so I told him to send me his IELTS results, and that he should blur his Name and exam number(so he won't feel that I wanna use his result for anything) I needed to be sure he is truly who he says he is. Na so I no come hear from bros again ooo.lol

I've heard similar case like this happen to me last year. Gave someone an information, not knowing that he was a visa agent. After giving him all the information, this Same guy can back on nairaland and was doing adverts that he has good links to and Czech republic bla bla....so i told myself that I won't fall for any shit like that again.
Lol....
Well let's assume they got busy and distracted

Diploma remains the basic requirement for UK RN.

"Mapping" comes into play when you want to do a Top Up program or any academic program.

Please @ vickyehi,@ barbiee, what then is the process to travelling to UK to start practicing as a ed nurse, and how can one write that UK NMC CBT,and where can it be written, because I'm in Nigeria.
you need to create an online with NMC uk then pay the £140 for your credentials evaluation. After that, pay for your NMCN license verification. Nmc uk will send you your Authorization to test which you will use to book your exams

I think you are mis the whole process. You dont need to write Nclex for UK. The only exams you need to write for UK registration are CBT, IELTS academic and OSCE.
It is USA registration that needs Nclex

Thanks for the response...I just completed my internship... Are you saying UK is easier without job experience? And like how much is the prove of fund you spoke about?
Canada is a long thing. Even if you get there, it will take you time to qualify as a nurse there. Some 5years. UK is the fastest.

True!
Congrats on your ist class.
For canada, it doesnt really matter if you had ist or 3rd class for the licensing. Truth is that there would still be gaps found in your education because of country of origin. If you love canada so much, your choices are to apply for a masters degree (maybe in public health) or you go through the Express entry system. On getting to Canada, the best route to licensing is to redo your Bachelor's degree. At least that way, you are sure of your graduation date. You can also attend an after degree nursing program usually 2year long and a compressed program.

Best option from Nigeria is the UK route. Write your ielts and start up the process. You could work your way from the UK to Australia or canada at a later date when you are more financially buoyant. You may also choose to remain in the uk and get your permanent stay after 5yrs.

I have paid for the verification from nmc but I didn't request for a letter/certificate of good standing just verification. Please is there an implication? If so what do you think I can do? I paid for verification and submitted a verification request letter 3 weeks ago.

GOOD NEWS!!

Nigerian Nurses aspiring to move to United Kingdom to work can now do so without breaking their banks as the Nursing and Midwifery Council has slashed verification fees by 67.3% (from ‎₦53,500 to ‎₦17,500) Nursesarena.com has learnt. The fee was slashed last week according to multiple sources who were privy to the change.

Recall that Nursesarena.com posted last month that NMCN is in the process of reviewing the verification fees for UK verification See https://nursesarena.com/travel-nursing/nigeria-nursing-and-midwifery-council-begins-online-verification-to-uk-nmc/

Speaking on the new verification fees, a source within NMCN office says this new verification fees is only applicable to those who are under the new UK NMC process as the process is solely online. Applicants who are under the old UK NMC registration process still have to pay ‎₦53,500. Other Nurses seeking verification to other countries have to pay the ‎standard verification fees of ₦53,500. It currently takes NMCN between 1 day to 6 weeks to send your verification based on the experience of those who have gone through the verification process

Requirements for Verification

Applicants can submit the following document to any of NMCN office Nationwide

1. Remita Payment Receipt
2. A copy of birth certificate
3. A copy of your license (front and back)
4. A copy of your certificate of registration (Issued by NMCN)
5. Handwritten Application (with your UK NMC application number written on it for those under the new system)
6. Printed UK NMC Verification form (for those under the old system only)

How to Pay Nigeria Nursing and Midwifery Council Verification Fees

Go to Remita page click this link https://.remita.net/remita/onepage/OAGFCRF/biller.spa

Complete it as follow:
Who Do you want to pay: Write Nursing and Midwifery Council
