Hello everyone. I am a regular Nairalander but this is my first time on this thread.

I have a Second class lower(3.3 CGPA) in Mass Communication. I am planning to pursue an Advance Diploma course in Canada. With what I have read on here, I used google and found "The Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology", they offer a course which I am interested in, the tuition fee on the site is approximately $14k.

Now here is my trouble. I only have 5m Naira in my personal . I have no family sponsor, I believe I should be able to get a sponsor(an acquaintance with no family tie) with about 10m in his or her . What is my chance of getting a visa?

Secondly, on the site, it is stated that IELTS is needed for the course(this is against what I read that IELTS is not needed for any post graduate program), this got me confused because I know people's hurdle with IELTS

Also, I am planning to stay over there in Canada. Could there be an opportunity for me to stay and start a life over there?

As one of the conditions of my offer of ission, I was asked to provide "Proof of Graduation" (must be mailed directly from the school).

I intend to visit the schools (first & second degrees) to inquire but my inquiry can be better made if someone explains what they understand by "proof of graduation". I don't think they are referring to certificates as my school can't confidentially send that to them since they are with me. Do they mean transcript or certificate verification?

Has anyone done this before? Any insights?

Fast forward...she works earning N100k a month as an office ant/ HR personnel and has put together savings of 14m over the past years. She is married with 3 kids. Intends to leave the kids and spouse here and go for a diploma in ing. Because 14m might not be enough for living expenses for two years I will sponsor tuition for the first year and will make the payment before she starts her visa application so she still has 14m intact.

Please pick holes in my narration and offer advise so I can get her to compile a strong application

Just meet a lawyer to prepare one for you. Tell the lawyer to backdate the deed and use an old seal. Get it notarized(not compulsory). Your parent need not change the name on the documents. With the deed properly executed, it is deemed to to you. For the valuation certificate, that would cost a good amount. Engage the services of an estate surveyor and they would value the property and issue you with the certificate.

Well, you should scan clean clear colored copies of your documents to . You only use photocopies when you are submitting via paper route.
As for police clearance, it’s not a CIC requirement. They will do a background check on you by themselves. But you can still do follow follow sha and do it like some people does.

I think they are referring to your certificate.
Firstly, you may request the University to issue a statement in letter-format that states the credential earned, the years in which you were in attendance, and the year you earned your credential. This may be mailed in a signed/stamped sealed envelope.

Secondly, you may consider the 'attested' method. Essentially, the University may photocopy your copy, sign and stamp it as a true copy before mailing to your preferred destination.

After a medical, the medical center will send the result to CIC direct btw 72hrs. Though you may have a printout from them, that also you may send via web form and email yourself.
It depends on the stage of your application and if it was a medical call up. But generally, it should take btw 3-14 days for it to be update.
Mind you, all applications are not the same.

Why don't her try to get ision in PGD/C or Post Baccalaureate Diploma. Also, she should try to for her study gap with evident and convincing reason(s). She only needs to show funds (tuition and LE) for a year and demonstrate how the funds for her studies for the subsequent year would be meant. Above all, with the provided analysis, she's good.

I don't think anyone would be able to supply you with a certain answer to your question on your chances of approval or refusal. You should consider using either a sponsor or cosponsor. If the school says they can't waive the English Language Proficiency Test for you without writing IELTS, then search for other schools that do.

Just package your application to the best of your knowledge and available documents at your disposal, and then prayer to what you believe and be hopeful.

Not on every occasion. However, rare except there are some umclear discrepancies. But do what is necessary and put your mind at ease.

Quick question.
Submitted my application about a month ago.
Someone in canada helped with it actually. He is family, cousin. He has a PR, and it showed in the application that ill be staying with him and all that. My dad is the sponsor with a strong and properties docs which we submitted and all other important stuff.
Yesterday, they requested for my cousin's statement.
Is this good or bad news? Isnt my dad's enough?
Should that be scary?
