Both are pretty close, we can say the Volvo would command more luxury and Respect compared to the pilot.

But versatility, ease of use, parts availability, technical know how would all have Pilot scoring higher than the volvo

How reliable is this car?
Tor, since we are doing this. I'll recommend Dodge demon or a hellcat redeye. The parts are readily available as aunty radu is always on standby. Reliability is top notch too.

Reliable the years you pick but gear is a bit sensitive so no hanky panky and no shortcuts to avoid failure

Fuel economy
It's a 3.2L V6 for base and 3 5L V6 for type-S if fuel economy is so important buy an accord 4cylinder or Acura TSX

performance
0 to 62mph in 5.9secs the type-S with manual gear and paddle shifter can do it a tad better.
3.2L V6 270hp
3.5L V6 286hp
not bad for a luxury sport sedan, not the fastest neither is it the slowest.

parts availability
Body parts are expensive some parts are shared with Honda Accord but be weary and don't drag road with danfo and Keke napep

Cost of repairs
Depends on what needs to be done and workshop you intend to use, baba tawa is cheap but may fo shody job and use inferior parts.
Carquest is a good workshop and have original parts brand-new from the states, their price maybe affordable to some and expensive to some. So only you can decide.

But cost of repair shouldn't be close to what a VW Phaeton would command grin

Thanks for the quick response.

fuel economy is very important, this is buhari era plus being a family man too. I'm not a speed demon so average performance is pretty fine by me. By expensive, do you mean lexus expensive or what? General/regular repairs done on cars is the idea of the cost of repairs.

You had better leave that car. You'll be lucky to get 13mpg within town.

Luxury: IS
Reliability: Lexus. Both are great.

With N1.5m budget, planning to acquire a tokunbo car with underlisted attribute;

- Reliabity
- Low cost of maintenance
- Performance
- Fuel economy
- Part availability
Not keen about luxury/aesthetics

Pls what can I go for?

Honda Civic. Check Amdman's thread.

BTW, you can't get performance and fuel economy. They're antithetical.

Solid car. Don't buy the ecoboost, the 3.7L is a more reliable engine.

Lol, I mean, economy is very relative. If were talking about electrical economy, you still wouldn't be able to compare those cars to smaller EVs like the Nissan Leaf. So yeah, more performance, less economy.

You just can't cross-compare EV to ICE.

What do you guys think of the Lexus IsF 2008-12? Its got a naturally aspirited 5.0 l v8,churns out 416hp and makes about 23mpg, highway. Exhaust note us awesome, and its a Lexus. Gas anyone used it? Any known issues?

Amazing car. Shame it's still just so expensive.
Reliable (there are some with well over 200k miles, which is amazing for a performance sports car), great interior build, brilliant exhaust note--especially with a straight pipe.

The biggest proof of how good it is its price. 2008 models still go for over $20k, that's about $5k more than the M3 or C63 of the same year, both of which were more expensive brand new.

Great car, highly recommended. That price, though, is an issue. It'll run you about 10m, and you could get a pretty nasty 2016 Camaro SS for that money, which craps all over the IS-F as a sports car.

ivoryhouse(m): 8:16pm On Jan 29, 2020
You can get the IsF for as low as $15k, on ebay, clear title but with about 110k miles. Camaro looks like a rock fell on the roof, not for me. My favorite American muscle car is the Challenger, which will eat the camaro...I digress

I guess private sellers will be cheaper than dealerships.

Well, it depends on what Challenger you're talking about. Anything below the Hellcat loses to the Camaro SS. And the Hellcat is a lot more expensive.
