Yeah, freelancing is a great way to establish financial independence, but it requires hard work and almost no social life. A traditional job with an employer may not be great, but it at least helps pay the bills while you transition to financial independence. People criticize ordinary jobs, but it seems to me they are mentally easier than owning your own business. There seems to be a trade-off between financial independence and being stress-free.
