Kingsley10000: At this point, i think we should be informed if they’re still sticking with the initial $2 billion airport as shown in the snazzy 3-D render, or if they’re going to scale things down a bit! 3 Likes |

IGBOSON1: I suspect things have been massively scaled down. it wasn’t just an Airport that they were trying to Build. It was an Airport city with hotels, residencies, industrial areas etc. 2 Likes |

IGBOSON1: Keep you informed for what reason please? How many things have you keep informed or updated on Niger delta ? Wike is building 3 flyovers in Rivers... nobody will see you there but you keep moving around trying to criticize or diminish or should I say rubbish any infrastructural development in Igboland. Be guided...here is not Niger delta. |

Anambralstson: Just like 200 SUVs were purchased for federal security agencies, Anambra state government now need to purchase a lot of fire fighting trucks and garbage disposal vehicles from INNOSON. Every major city in Anambra needs at least 2 functional fire service stations. Every market needs at least one fire truck with a borehole at a strategic location. Major markets like Onitsha main market, Nkwo nnewi main market, Eke Awka market, Nkpor building materials and motor parts market all need 2 fire trucks situated at a site with functional borehole to guarantee easy access to water. Anambra state government can enter a maintenance agreement with INNOSON to help them maintain the vehicles for 5 to 6 years. 7 Likes |

I think our people don't like development, look at the video shared it seems the Anambra airport is about to start but the community people are disturbing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb_QgDHB2I4 |

Ceegar01: But it seems the government have not paid them compasation before destroying their farm lands 2 Likes |
horsepower101: 7:17am On Nov 21, 2019 |
Ceegar01: They are not disturbing. It seems that the government left the land that the community gave to them for the project and took a different land used by the people for farming. They are not even asking for money. They want obiano and his crew to go back to the original land that the community gave them for the project. Unless someone is lying or miscommunicating to these women on the agreement that the government had with the community. 8 Likes |

The protesters are naive. This land was even acquired and compensation paid over 10yrs ago by Obi istration. It was at that same period that the airport approval was gotten.

ANSMEDIA: I think you missed the point. They are not laying claims to the said land acquired by the govt but the other lands which where not included for the project. I think what the govt has to do is to go and iron things out, if the project is too big to fit in the previous land acquired then they should set modalities for acquiring more land. From what I have seen from the video there is enough land. The modalities for the airport roads should also be catered for to avoid conflicts like this which is very embarrassing. 7 Likes |

I think the problem here is the size of land acquired by Peter Obi istration is different from the size Obiano acquired If you go back to the mou Obiano signed he said the size will be 1500 hectares 5 Likes |

The land Peter Obi acquired for the airport project was 500 hectares. But Obiano tripled it to 1500 hectares

ANSMEDIA: Yes, even when land is acquired, people will often continue farming on it until the project actually starts. Nobody believed this Umueri airport project will ever start or was any serious economic project except as a good way of playing politics. I am still thinking the people that will be using the Umueri airport if the Asaba Intl. becomes concessioned and a fully functional international airport with international airlines going there. Yes, I would want us to have our own international airport, but it appears we had waited too long after the Oba airport debacle and now people have positioned international airports close to Onitsha that it will make it difficult for two major international airports to survive within 15 nautical miles of eachother. Add that to the cluelessness of our people who would still prefer to land in Lagos or Abuja and then take a grueling 10 hour dangerous bus trip to the Southeast just because that's how it was done in the 1980s Let us carefully articulate the role of Umueri International airport (i.e: Aviation fuel depot, cargo haulage etc) This will help in knowing the mass of land required and the type of infrastructure it must have to even attract international airlines. I say this because effort is being made for international airlines to begin landing in Asaba. For most international airlines from Europe, Asia or Ameriacas, landing in Asaba, Umueri, Enugu,Owerri and even Port Harcourt is the same catchment area of engers because they are within 300KM of eachother. In reality, either Asaba international will finally become non-functional or the Umueri airport will simply be a white elephant project. All these would depend if they build it to such world class standard that no international airline would choose to land in Asaba than Umueri because the facilities are top notch international standard. To achieve that level of sophistication, A LOT of money will be required to build the Umueri airport. All is left to be seen. 4 Likes |

ANSMEDIA:My Friend say what you know and stop talking nonsense. what our people are protesting is the illegal and forceful take over of our lands by Obiano and his Aguleri brothers. you just sit in your comfort house and start saying rubbish. for your information, the first land acquired was 729 hecters of land which compensation has been paid for by Obiano and not Peter Obi like you alleged. after many years, Obiano did not develop the 729 hecters but came back to demand for additional 528 hecters of land which he was also given. he still did not develop it but came back again towards this end of his regime to start demanding another 600 hecters of land. what the community is saying is simple, government should leave us with the remaining hecters because that is all we now have. that is where our mother now farm, that is the only land our children have left. our request is simple, go and develop the over 1300 hecters already acquired and stop trying to sack the whole village in the name of eof building Airport 9 Likes |

OMANBALA1:just hear yourself. Obiano is yet to finish paying the compensation for the Parcel B he acquired (about 528 hecters) and the next thing we saw is coming to start bulldozing an entirely different land he has not acquired and even the community is not ready to release. if he is your brother, go and tell him that he is wasting his time. you think Umueri people are cawards? wait and see! 3 Likes |

UmuEri:If Obiano decides to take the airport to Aguleri people like you will still say he is taking everything to Aguleri. Your community should stop this nonsense and allow the government to work, there is no compensation that will be bigger than the economic activities that will come to your community when the airport starts functioning 5 Likes |

globemoney: your thinking shows how low you are. who told you that there is an Almighty benefit for umueri as a community apart from the benefit acruable to Anambra state in general? have you seen the MOU? have you seen the EIA? and let me tell you for sure, if not for land grabbing Obiano would have make due with the 729 hecters of land already given and can confidently accommodate any Airport structure. and for the issue of taking it to Aguleri, sorry to disappoint you, he already tried but couldn't succeed. not only did Senator Stella Odua, the former Aviation ministry stood against it, all the experts and stakeholders in the Aviation business told him point blank that Aguleri doesn't have the capacity and the land needed to host an Airport. go and educate yourself more. 4 Likes |

FFK is indeed a prophet. I encourage us to listen to his speech. But above everything, i know these predictions he mentioned are now inevitable. So, let this video be handy for those liars that will say they were never warned to save Nigeria before people decide to fight like men against their ancient agenda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI4JHy8o0b4 1 Like |

the airport is going to be a failed project. The cabals in the government are definitely going to frustrate it to the last. As long as Asaba international airport still exists, the case of anambra will be a mirage
