Dear Nairlanders,

I am always curious to know if you regret your decision to study abroad i.e Bsc. MSC. Or PhD level.

Your insights will help guide other young nigerians on decisions to take in that regard.

Thanks.

I had to come back to Nigeria because of Buhari/Emefiele's policy with WU/Moneygram.

I wanted to stay put there or migrate to Canada.

I did masters in the UK and no regrets so far. I doubt there will ever be.

As long as you have genuine hunger for knowledge and money is not your primary motivation, you should have no regrets.

I attended Manchester primary school in uk, attended boys high school Houston in united states and graduated from Harvard in United states with a first class in Engineering, but with all these I am a teacher in God's saviour secondary school in Oshodi. So in all what is my gain? This world is wicked.

Studying a course that is not useful to them or attending a quack school

True. But i think before anyone travels, he or she is supposed to gather information about the school and the courses that will be useful to them.

Yeah. But in the rush to get to "the abroad" people can make mistakes. Plus those schools are good at deceiving people.

It will be sounding good online and when they reach it will be some tiny office in one corner

This is especially true with so-called "Business schools". Some of them are not accredited anywhere but people still flock there even if the location is inside gutter
