It shouldn't be a governor's direct responsibility to renovate schools, neither should schools' renovation (a routine activity) be a newsworthy affair.

Ideally he would go round on inspection, query, fire & investigate whichever public servant was/is responsible for the welfare or otherwise of all those schools. . .

Ogun is currently having the worst road network is the south west. He should see to roads too. Infrastructurally backward state.
