Some have affairs with women (and men). Some have affairs with nuns. They're only human, and women especially have so much respect/iration for them (and confide in them during difficult times). It's only natural that they may stray. I suspect that's why some of them serve in remote areas where there's less temptation.

And despite the crimes against women and children, and the Catholic Church hiding it, most priests are not abs.

I need somebody to educate me. Where in the Bible is priest celibacy commanded? As far as
I know Eli the priest had sons. Some of the disciples were married except for some who chose not to marry. But for the catholic church to have celibacy upon them as part of their service journey is what I have never truly understood.

why not be busy trying to understand why you were born in the first place and the purpose you were sent to earth to achieve.

Thank you for explaining. I have always questioned this.

Catholic priesthood is not for everyone. It is for the strong-willed. It involves huge sacrifices. The reward extremely outweighs the sacrifices.
The former priest wasn't strong enough to swim against the current of the lust of the flesh and the world. He could not witness to Christ and the celibacy that Christ stood for and recommended for those who would willingly share in His chaste and Priestly ministry.
Mr. Edet has achieved what he wanted. There's more to that than meets the eye. The ultimate destination is Heaven, for those who truly believe.
