Hi everyone..
I've been facing some challenges lately and it feels weird here but I'd need help on what I'm facing due to my kinda introverted nature.
I am a Lagos raised chap who schools in a core northern environment and in my first year I tried familiarizing myself with people around me especially my coursemates. I never had problems socializing with the males but I observed the females especially those from the region wanted to exploit the kind of soft nature I had, so it was kinda looking like they were taking me for granted despite the fact that I respected myself before them cos I don't imagine myself having anything amorous with them from the onset as I'm a person of principle and priority.
So in my second year I decided I'd be on my own. Na so I no dey give then face and I didn't give a damn about these female folks based on their crazy attitude.
Now the things is that I've been the subject of their discussion lately, I get to hear them gossip about me right in my presence in their language cos they feel I don't understand but I've got that lingual flair a bit. I really do not know what my offense is despite the fact that I'm minding my own business cos I'm felling odd with the way these people are acting towards me despite the fact that I've been minding my business.
Please how do I handle this?

Well, it's very possible they "hate" your behavior of ignoring them. So they're going to discuss your matter. But the actual underlying truth is that at least one of them has a crush on you, thus leading them to discuss about you. (This is more likely if you're fine, quiet and intelligent to some extent)
You can decide getting a bit more friendly with them and they'll eventually be extremely friendly with you. But if you feel their character is a problem, then just stay away from them.

The good thing is that they don't know you understand their gossip /the language, but you do. So keep playing it cool, using that to your advantage to hear what they're saying about you. Don't be bothered about their gossip, unless it's something that requires you to act or take caution.

if you are as principled as you claimed, keeping them at bay shouldn't be a problem.

The first attempt anyone will make on a quiet fellow is to see if he/she can be exploited. cos by nature he looks exploitable. But when they know that you are stronger than a pillar that holds capitol building in USA, they will come through.
