feelamong: Good afternoon, please i made an investment of 2 million from Zenith bank on Tbills for 91daysand i got a commission of #44876. From my calculations 0.0974 for 91days is supposed to yield a profit of 194800. Pls what's wrong? I'm very angry right now or it seems i don't understand how the calculation is being made. |

Ugo04: You got the right amount |

Grupo: Oh! Pls can you help me with the calculations and i won't do Tbills again. It's too small, i can make triple of that amount in less than 91days. I feel ashamed because it's as if government is using our head. |

Ugo04: Assuming the rate is 9.7% for 91 days, then your calculation goes thus: (9.7*2,000,000*91)/(364*100). Punch those figures into your calculator and you will get your value. , your final answer will vary slightly from what you got because bank charges you small fees for helping you to keep your investment. And oh yes, tbills is not a business. We have been saying it here, if you are free to run your own business or if you have a good viable idea, tbills may not be for you. Personally, if the rates don't go up when my current tenors expire, I may look elsewhere. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Ugo04: The bank is right and you are wrong. Interest Rate is quoted per annum. So divide your 194800 by 4 since your investment is for 91 days(a quarter). In the alternative, use this Simple Interest formula for all your subsequent calculations: I = ( P*T*R) /(365 * 100) Where: I = Interest Earned P = Principal T = Time/Tenor R = Rate in percentage Therefore, P = 2,000,000 T = 91 R = 9.97 I = ( 2,000,000 * 91 * 9.74 ) / (365 * 100) = 48,566.57 (before charges and fees) 7 Likes 1 Share |

Hello fellow men & women! Am yet to get feelers from my bank about yesterday's bid: l was debited and up till now no credit for either my bulk money or upfront. Can't get to my bank now till next week. Any idea why it's so? The bank is First Bank. Thanks as always. |

feelamong: I sent my filled form for the 91 days primary auction to my officer on monday and told him to submit it on my behalf cos i am based abroad. He acknowledged it. Today (thursday) I asked him if he submitted it, he said yes and also told me Stanbic won the bid for the 91 days, but I am yet to be debited. I also asked him what day does Stanbic debit people for Tbills, he said it is on Thursday's. It is already close of business and I am yet to be debited. Is it that the officer is playing a fast one on me cos i am not around? I need your advice. |
