Senate President Bukola Saraki has directed the National Assembly Management to distribute his severance allowance to the families of Leah Sharibu and two other aid workers killed by Boko Haram terrorists.

He also instructed children of late Senators in need of financial assistance should benefit from the allowance.

In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki stated the families of Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan and Hauwa Liman, the two murdered aid workers by Boko Haram should also be included.

In the case of the late senators’ children, Saraki directed a Trust Fund should be established by management of the National Assembly for those who may require financial assistance in furtherance of their education.

He stated that his decision to use the severance package to the selected victims of the insurgency was based on the fact that their cases represented some of the most touching humanitarian issues debated at the plenary during the four-years of the Eighth Senate and on which his colleagues and himself made emotional and ionate speeches.

According to him, 20 percent of the severance allowance is to be donated to the family of Leah Sharibu while 20 percent is also to be paid to the family of Hauwa Liman, the aid worker brutally murdered by Boko Haram after she was captured.

Another 20 percent is to be donated to the family of the second aid worker, Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan, also murdered in the same circumstance by Boko Haram.

A kind gesture from the great man who stopped the dullard from turning our democracy on its head.

For those that will term this political, Nigerians will love to see the so called C in C get political by ensuring Leah Sharibu and other captives are rescued. #freeleahsharibu

Those who think Saraki is buried politically are naive.

The guy will definitely bounce back because "agbo to f'eyin rin, agbara lo lo mu wa". Furthermore, Kwarans can't trust Tinubu's Group of Company for long. I foresee the current governor of kwara spending only one term.

Everybody might think Saraki is a bad person in his 4years been the senate president but i viewed it the other way round. Saraki can only be criticise by the APC's lover. If u deny anybody an opportunity, you are their enemy. Simple philosophy

Very soon, Nigerians will realise that Saraki is a great statesman with the interest of democracy and the nation at heart. He was persecuted and hunted because he did not allow the Executive to pocket the National Assembly.

He is wellbred and courageous. By the time the Executive pocket this present National assembly and start reeling out anti people policies, we will appreciate the ruggedness of omo baba oloye.

Saraki will continue to shine in the midst of his enemies and Zombies.
