Also they attend to you if you are a resident of Abuja and the other related states. Trust me they are very lovely people at the embassy and very welcoming

Yeah! People in Economics obviously in . Estate management as a course is a UK thing so there are more post study opportunities there but in , the academic pathway is different and are mostly in German.

Me personally, I don't see the need to do a master's in Estate management except if one you plan for a career in the academics...

Try Anhalt, they have many different masters in specific field that you can do.. many environmental management course will accept you if your CGPA is good. Many Courses in TUM and Berlin need people from diverse backgrounds in many of the courses, you can also explore them.

Hey men, I know you’ve been really helpful to this group and we are all grateful, Durucee didn’t come out right with what he had to say or his manner of saying it. There is truth in what he says tho, ive done my research on this for quite some time now, and here’s what I could find. These are words from a German expat
A “fachhochschule”, or FH for short (German University of Applied Science) vs. German “university” has to do with differences in level of theory. I work with a number of German engineers and this is how it has been explained to me; my experience is around engineers in this regard (which seems appropriate given the question asked…).

In an FH diploma, there is less intense theory and more practical/hands-on compared against a university diploma. There is decent overlap at a cursory level, but the tradeoff tends to be here. I think both have ostensibly the same number of course hours, but University diploma is universally regarded as superior. A University diploma prepares one for graduate work; in fact, most graduate schools in will not directly accept FH graduates without some additional work (I’ve heard nearly a year of additional coursework) that is intended to “close the gap” between the degrees.

There tends to be a bias against FH engineers—in , business cards will show “FH” at the end of an engineer (I believe this is required) to distinguish them from University engineers. I have known several FH engineers and they are good—they do tend to be the more practical engineers. But on the flip-side, I have seen very few FH engineers in more rigorous fields like Finite Elements and Computational Fluid Dynamics. This is largely because most engineers in these disciplines have graduate diplomas (and for reasons noted above it is easier for University graduates to get into graduate school).

If you are practical and have no ambitions of a PhD, FH may be a good path. If you think you want to be a professor, probably University is the better decision.

In summary, not that you won’t get a job or anything, just that someone with a university degree is a better catch and more respected in your field, more research oriented. But if your skills sur his/hers then you’d probably still get the job over them. Whichever one you go, just try and excel well and learn valuable skills. Shalom

Rubbish though... The difference between a FH and Uni is just in the approach.
Your ability to get a job is hinged on your language proficiency, the course, IT for example and your skill sets and work experience.

P.S. the challenge a student of UoAS might face is doing PhD.

Actually, I school in the south west all through. I came for my service here in Abuja and started the process. When you are booking the appointment, you would be required to state your place of residence and they would choice which embassy you are required to go to. The process is the simplest just send them an early mail. They are very keen to timing and won't answer you even if you are a minute past the deadline. Also most important. Calculate at least 6 weeks after the day you go for the interview to know when to apply. And like I said. Abuja German embassy is the friendliest embassy I have ever been to

Please I need suggestions on what to do. I applied for long term student visa for through the German embassy in Nigeria. I did my interview on 7th February and up till today I've not gotten AM(approval mail). I have tried ing the embassy several times but nothing positive came out.. I.e they have never replied to any of my mails and even when I call they just tell me to send them mail. I the alien office about three times too and each reply said they had not received my documents from the embassy and that I should the embassy, infact the last mail i sent to them this Monday, they replied that I should refrain from sending them multiple mails. Now I am so confused and helpless cos I can't even say what is causing the delay. I funded my block even before the interview date and submitted all necessary documents. my enrollment deadline was April 11th, I had to plead with the school to grant me an extension, now they gave me 1week extension latest, so my new enrollment deadline is April 18th but the embassy is yet to give me till today, I'm really worried. Any suggestion or what next I should do? Should I go to the embassy in Lagos? Will that help?

He will put you on the queue and Paulinus will gently attend to you..it will be excellent if you can tell him who you VO was.. But the first thing you will do is to tell him the problem you have...please and please nobody will walk you out of German embassy not even the security if you came for an inquiry ( talking out of experience) do it ASAP.. May God be with you.

Wow! Thanks for this advice, I didn't know I would be attended to if I go to the embassy without appointment cos I was made to believe they won't answer me. Well I'm not in Lagos but I'll try and travel next week.
