In modulo 7, you can have numbers 1 to 6.
The following are the numbers in modulo 7:
0,1,2,3,4,5 and 6.
Now, for multiplication in Modulo 7,
2x3= 6. Normal thing.
But what happens if you get an answer greater than or equal to seven?
Like 2x4=8
We cannot have 8.
So, how many 7 in 8?
1 remainder 1
So, the remainder 1 is the answer.

Another example: 5 x 6= 2

Because we can't have 30 here!
But how many 7 in 30 is 4 rem 2.
So, rem 2 is the answer. Hope this helps.

help see if you can decode this questions.....thanks
the last question with 4,5,0 & 9 is 4+5=9-9=0
the first question is multiplication all through.
Tolams16(m): 5:14pm On Feb 24, 2019
There is a typo error on d 3rd example. Use only first two as sample. Sometimes when something seems difficult is either the question is very hard or there is an error in d question, i say there is and error in the 3rd sample.

Me too. I had a study group and we aced our common entrance exams. None of us got below 500.

I am looking forward to solving quantitative problems with my kids but, as i have gotten to realise, the Nigerian education system is very much inadequate

I tell you your kids will be more motivated if you as their dad take out time to do such with them, such things are what children easily when they are adults.

Whatever is done at the top you as well do at the bottom
16/2=8 and 4/2=2
1*2=2 and 3*2=6
4-4=0 and 9-4=5
lanre2009: 5:16pm On Feb 24, 2019
this is simple......ADD THE 2 NUMBERS AND DIVIDE YOUR ANSWER BY 7.....when there is a remainder you put the remainder in front of the dot....or point.....or period

Businessideas:

grin My wife said the same thing about this problem until I decoded it.
Don't try these common entrance questions o. You will rack your head tire grin grin

Some of those people that make up this things now...as far as I am concerned some doesn't make sense. Some the examples don't correlate with one another.

Number 1 is unspecified 2=C. 7+1=8/2=4 3=D. 12+6=18/2=9 4=E. 56+28=84/2=42

No error anywhere

The summation of the four numbers give you multiple of 3

A. 16+8+4+2 = 30

B. 1+2+3+6= 12

C. 4+0+5+9= 18

Wrong. As you will have different answers. For example I'm B, you will have more than one answer. 12 & 15 are all multiple of 3.

I think there is a mistake with d first example: instead of 16 it should be six.
6+4_8=2

You are welcome. Still clearly and appreciate my father's efforts during my common entrance exam and the subsequent interview, which is beyond the finance but sitting down with me, going through the text books and tackle past questions, eternally grateful to him.

if its Ugo c Ugo,then I think that third sample is an error. I use it in preparing for my pupils and usually notice few errors.

If it is due to error in sample there would be answers to the proper questions in the options

16-2=14 not 12

Sorry, the first is 16/2= 8

8/4= 2

Second is 1+2+3= 6
1+3=4 and 6-4= 2
Apply the same as the second to the third question and u will get that too

how? Summation of all the nos in b is 12 not 15

Olodo! Summation will be in multiples of 3 hence that explained different answers.

Go back to your multiples of no class

The 2 in the first sample should be 28. Add the first 3 numbers to give you 28. I have the 14th edition and the 2 is 28 in it.

Thanks....this actually worked ...I added '8' to the '2' in the first sample and we were able to solve all the questions....I really appreciate....

The middle part where you have "2" is "1"

2*4 * 2*3=48

1*1 * 1*3= 3

5*1 * 1*4= 20

For the first question, this makes sense to me, check the questions you will see all the examples except for the first example which I think it's wrong.

Arrange the numbers in ascending order.
Highest Minus Lowest = Sum of two middle numbers

In the first sample....16 + 8 + 4 = 28.....not 2, this worked out for the other samples as well as the other questions....thanks

It takes a village....[uote author=LuciferPreacher post=76074657]

Is the son not supposed to have learnt this in school?
What was he doing while his mates were learning it?

On social media?

How will the kid learn if Nairalanders keep solving his math problems for him?

How does this concern Nairalanders?

Why do Nigerians like nonsense?
It must be a typo error just like we have in the second attachment.

Why not use the latest edition, i believe it ll have less error
