What ground up - when British handed you oil - what an idiot. I don't excuse kenya under-development. We are not poor because we didn't have white head start or people. We are poor because 1) we breaded like nigeria rats 2) We had leadership/corruption/governance challenges 3) we got screwed by Oil boom ( that should have benefitted Nigeria but look at you now ![]() Right now we are on the right track. We took care of pop growth by investing in family planning - and that is starting to pay off. We are taking care of leadership & corruption - ongoing challenge but our quality of leadership is way better than Nigeria. We invested massively in education & health services - and it reflecting. We are investing in infrastructure - I am not sure what more Brits left us - because they left us with as much rail as any other country. Nigeria are yet to figure this out. 68816419: This is a very useless neighborhood, you can't compare it to Mountain View. The problem with Nigerians is you don't understand what landscaping is. In Kenya, the richest neighborhoods are green with grass rather than concrete jungles. The Estate you posted would for a lower middleclass Estate in Nairobi like Buru Buru. The one I posted is High End. Notice the greenery in Muthaiga below - Muthaiga and Karen rank among the world's highest end neighborhoods. I don't live in Muthaiga but I'll live there someday. Muthaiga or Karen. 1. Muthaiga. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2. Karen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 4 Likes 2 Shares |

The more concrete the more beautiful in Nigeria. No wonder Dangote has made a fortune. Elsewhere the more greenery - the better. You can see from their pictures - their cities look grainy - from all the pollution - without carbon sinkers like trees or grass. Too much carbondioxide. NairobiWalker: 1 Like |

68816419: Your Estate is more like Makadara in Nairobi, not even Buru Buru. Makadara is low class, Mountain View is Upper Middle Class and High Class. You can do your Math - Comparing Mountainview to that is an abomination. 5 Likes 1 Share |

rvp20183: I wonder why Nigerians and Tanzanians love to insist on this. In 1960 - Nigeria GDP was $4.2 billion and Kenyan GDP was $0.79 billion. Nigeria's GDP was 5.3 times Kenya's. 58 years later, our GDP is $88 billion and theirs is $374 billion. Theirs is 4.2 times ours. You then wonder when they tell you the white man left us in a better position than them. Meanwhile, in 1960, Tanzania had a bigger GDP than us and now we are almost doubling them yet they'll say the white man left us better. 5 Likes |

rvp20182:What is considered whether a country is in debt crisis is the debt to GDP ratio not those gibberish you wrote. Kenya's is more than 50% nigeria is about 19%, one of the lowest in the world! So tell me how Nigeria is in more trouble than Kenya. |

GDP doesn't pay taxes. They haven't considered Nigeria with WORLD WORST tax to GDP. What will you pay your external debts - GDP or Revenues. When you eventually cash your GDP - let us know. We would love to see that big 400B dollar cheque. Ibrahimanis: 4 Likes |

Now we are out of Nairobi. That too is changing. There are 30,000kms under construction in kenya - about 10,000 nearing completion - about 20,000kms under construction soon - rural, urban and highways. 68816419: 4 Likes |

rvp20182: Stop telling lies coz it can never be the truth no matter how long you repeat it First and foremost. Nigeria has 3 tiers of government. So total budget is Federal + state(36) + local government (774) + FCT(Abuja) Firs generated over 5 trillion and is projected to reach 8 trillion this year which is about the federal budget and customs generated 1.5 trillion projected to reach 2 trillion and oil revenues and revenues from other sectors are not included. Federal government of Nigeria is heading for a very crazy budget surplus this year State governments have started increasing their igr by an impressive margin FCT has for the first time gotten some financial autonomy from the Federal government and revenues are increasing The local government budget are above 2 trillion The first screenshot pertains to only the federal government not inclusive of state or local government The last screenshot doesn't Lagos and cross Rivers and one other state which should push to above 17 trillion exclusive of local government of about 2 trillion that should be around 19trillion. Still below par but waay above yours 1 Like |

rvp20182: There is massive land reclamation in every corner of Lagos from the Lagoon to the ocean. Lagos land mass expanding while Nairobi can't. Banana island was created from the lagoon. Many more reclamation projects Diamond island u/c Gracefield island u/c Orange island u/c Eko Atlantic(the same size as Manhattan) Ikoyi and lekki are also expanding with land reclamation It's best not to worry about the landmass of Lagos. It's continually expanding |
