When A Bright Intelligent Child Becomes A Struggling Adult (29647 Views)

Have you seen someone you knew back then in your elementary & secondary schools who was among the top students; brilliant & very promising, but now living in their past glory? Some of them got to the university, struggled out, & for years they ain't got any meaningful job, whereas those average to poor performers then are doing very well with family, cars & houses.. This could be as a result of their star being blocked! When a child is seen with such a promising talent, a number of people will be envious: friends, family , neighbors, especially if that child lives in a populated face-me-i-face-you compound. Others that didn't show those early signs of greatness were never attacked, & they're still living their normal lives...just as the king saw the star of Jesus Christ & never wanted him alive Parents should ensure that their 'gifted' children are adequately protected: * Stop bragging with your neighbors or family of how intelligent your child is * Hard work should be rewarded. Any of your child doing exceptionally well should be encouraged with gifts * Pray for your child. They also require your blessings of protection If you are in this category of adults, just know that your life has been hacked, & you need a divine intervention 128 Likes 12 Shares |

The thing is that life doesn't present everybody with the same opportunity. Such people might not have the opportunity to even attend the university. I have people who lost their sponsors in the university and had to work while schooling and in most case it will affect their grades that doesn't mean they dont know anything. I believe its by opportunity ,connection and Gods favour one can be come successful . 52 Likes 2 Shares |

It's just using a good format for the wrong things... Intelligence works little or no wonders again in Nigeria. For eg, Buhari the dullard, who don't have an O'level result is the president of intelligentsias, so-called brilliant students and all together smart citizens. 24 Likes |

Intelligence doesn't necessarily translate to wealth Success is not a function of intelligence If it were, our professors would have been the most successful, but guess what An unintelligent and mentally challenged buhari is their president ![]() 71 Likes 6 Shares |

Not true. Aint all about intelligence or affliction sometimes you need to work smart. That you are intelligent doesnt mean every thing will be rosy for you. You need to know some basics in life, bycut where necessary to make it. You can be intelligent educationally and not smart socially/streetwise but i put it to you that you need these two with Gods help to make it. ![]() 7 Likes |

Spiritual attribution to some natural happenings can't be much emphasized. I am a victim of all these aforementioned and a lot of friends I have are too. Inhibition itself should not be ignored in this regard. Fear of the unknown, self constraints, very spiritual family background. All the listed play a very big role in a child's disposition. Almost 3 of my friends are facing this same fate. Very brilliant, highly knowledgeable. I'm not exaggerating. They are all graduates with 2.1, 2.2 and all but nothing much on their side. Is it English or laws of physics and mathematics and all Albert Einstein's notations we come this world for? Is it watching other people's car zoom us or looking at big mansions and salivating that we come to see? Is it solving university problems for undergraduates and correcting every m]stakes and impressions and following the main Oga behind like dog in a bid to get daily chopins like 1k or 2 we come for? Most times, it's the extroverts that make it in this world. Parents should balance the weighing scale they use while raising a child. Thanks. 29 Likes 4 Shares |

I used to be this bright child but I must confess I have not achieved anything as an adult .Dreams are turning nightmares .They said we should get skills that certificate is not enough, got some IT skills etc but none is getting me close to my dream .My talent just there wasting ,depression setting and no one seems to believe in you anymore .It is heartbreaking.

Sometimes it's when the child looses focus. I am a living example of that sha genius from primary school I was a big fan of dexter from Cartoon Network and jimmy neutron from nickelodeon I was practically a nerd that people made fun of because of my way of thinking. I started reading chemistry and physics text books when I was in Jss getting ission was beans but once I got to university distractions finished me girls in particular because when I was smaller and seen as a nerd no girl ever looked our way so once we were in uni we wanted to do it all. We fell down the ladder graduated with poor grades and had to struggle but someone who is great is destined to be great it's always in you just find your way. I refused to work coz I know I am a problem solver I went into business when my mates were getting jobs it wasn't easy but we are still going up that ladder

Arrant bullshit OP makes up a distorted post regarding an individual's decline in intelligence. Have you considered psychological issues? Change of environment? Change of pedagogical techniques? Medical issues? Peer pressure? Financial issues? Lack of interest? Nutrition? 12 Likes 1 Share |
