Below is a statement from the presidency listing all the remarkable successes President Buhari has made in the power sector.

With less than 100 days to the next round of elections, the polity is already charged with so much toxic contents flying back and forth in the media space.

People are therefore forgetting to talk about the wonderful things happening in the country. But there should never be a time we should stop talking about where this country was in 2015 and where it is now, in of development:

~From 2015 till date, the Buhari/Osibanjo-led government of change has succeeded in increasing power generation, transmission and distribution in the country and there are facts to back up these claims.

~Power generation was 4000 megawatts in 2015, it has now increased to 7000 megawatts.

~Power transmission was 5000 megawatts in 2015, it has now been increased to 7000 megawatts.

~Power distribution has increased from 2,690 megawatts in 2015 to 5,222 megawatts in 2018.

~The government is in fact in the process of delivering additional generation from Kaduna, 215MW; Afam IV, 240MW; Kashimbilla, 40MW; Gurara 30MW, and Dadinkowa, 29MW.

~Nine universities and 15 markets across the country have been lit up by the power distribution drive of the Ministry of Power.

~The construction of one big hydro-power plant of 700 megawatts in Zungeru, Niger state has reached advanced stage.

~Another mighty hydro power plant in Mambilla, Taraba state with a capacity to generate 3,050 megawatts is under construction.

~90 transmission projects are also going on nationwide with Apo, Mayo Belwa, Damaturu, Maiduguri, Odogunyan and Ejigbo being the recently completed ones.

~In the area of distribution, 100 injection sub-stations and a distribution expansion programme to be funded by the Federal Government are now in an advanced state of procurement.

~The evidence of the progress recorded in the power sector under President Buhari is captured in the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Report for Q2 of 2018, which shows a growth of 7.5 percent.

I can attest to the power distribution improvement. Where i live(not an estate), we have atleast 20-22 hours stable power per day except if rains falls.

To be sincere, power supply has improved during this istration compared to the past ones. Some areas that were lucky to have 3 hours of power now enjoy about 15-18 hours (my parents area as an example). There still room for improvement though

Bettered Nigerians split by making them the poorest globally, highest IDPs in Africa, and third worldwide.
Recording the highest number of deaths through insurgency and inflation.
Below is the Transparency International record on corruption since 2015-2017, where are you getting you data from?.

If you're in doubt, check those who still want PDP back.

I'm coming let me read the trash first.

******

OK, I have read the trash, and it was trash, as I predicted.

Unfortunately, I have traversed the Northern states of Nigeria, very often enough to know that the North has been enjoying power since years gone by. I have two questions...

1. How is it that most of the HYDRO-electric power plants are in the North, when it is needless to say that the Southern part of Nigeria has proximity to the biggest water bodies in Nigeria?

2. How come they are still generating, transmitting and distributing power in the North, while the South is wallowing in darkness and epileptic power supply?

I was thinking that it is the usual bill-dey-come end of month LEPA supply plan, I didn't know that this new 8-hr light a day plan is to asseverate these bogus claims of these nefarious recalcitrants.

ndi uchu!
