I've got close families that schooled here and are either working or lecturing abroad now.

It's normal for them to speak normal nija english n pidgin when interacting with us but will speak fluent foreign assent at work place or when delivering seminars there.

It's almost automatic for them and it's all for better communication with colleagues there. If u don't they'll keep asking u to repeat ur words n reading ur lips to understand what u saying.

So chill it's just normal for uhurru to switch when speaking to keyans or interacting with foreigners.

But if you look down, you find that we want leaders who are able to mesh and flow well with their contemporaries, no matter where in the world. That Kenyatta can speak fluently and fluidly indicates that - in addition to understanding where he comes from - he also understands and can relate to the Americans on their too. I would be just as happy if he had a flawless French or Chinese accent, not because of inferiority complex, but his command of the language means he also has insights to how they think, how they behave, and for me, that translates to gaining better footing in negotiations - at least among businessmen and diplomats.

African accents are beautiful, that is true; but just as we would be impressed and feel more connection with an oyinbo guy speaking Yoruba flawlessly, so would Americans feel a better connection with somebody who speaks their variant of English fluidly. Going further, all else being equal, would you prefer to do business with a Chinese person speaking Igbo flawlessly, or the one with the really-bad Chinese-Igbo accent?

I learned he schooled in the US, so my view on that is he can use the American accent if it would help him achieve his goal in this instance. In this case, he knows what he's doing, he's being diplomatic with it. However, if I were to be speaking with Trump, I won't do that for any reason.

My only issue is that some people are loving it, not realizing why he's doing it. I wish he could tell them himself before they begin copying him.

As for the book; people have written me from all over the world and it appears the message could get to radio/TV sooner or later.

By the way, I saw you have God on your lips these days. What God do you believe? Christian God, Islam God, Jewish God? As for me, I don't believe in the God of religion because they limit God and they don't grow.
