Its only the useless polygamous inspired traditions would make any think of adultery involving married men as trivial.

According to the Bible they should both be stoned to death! But Jesus came to say don't stone any sinner to death rather give them a chance to repent so it is a crime that attracts capital punishment (DEATH)! Even Jesus who said allow for repentance will not permit such during His kingship meaning it's totally abominable from the scriptural views!
