Haba one is sound which is thunder lightening is the main thing itself , so I get confused when people say thunder fire you

The original reason people say thunder fire you.....is because of superstition, people believe there is power in spoken words and since we all know thunder is the mare sound of lightening, so they know nothing really is going to happen by saying thunder fire you.....

However over time some people have now totally gotten it mixed up and no longer know the difference......

This is impossible even if he were asleep on an iron bed now.
The lightning would have had to burn through the roof for goodness sake if at all?!
And was it only his body that received the impact, his surroundings were all intact?
The parents need to investigate what really killed him starting from focusing their attention on the "chief medical examiner" friend who gave the claim.

that's literally impossible !
I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Please could someone serious minded explain the scientific reasons behind why he fell victim so that others might benefit from it and put up adequate preventive measures.

Thanks

However,a logical and scientific explanation could be: the building was likely not earthed thus when lightning bolt struck it sort of electrified the building (he completed an electric circuit so to speak!)

A few persons actually go with this theory

What a painful death, it's high time landlords construct lightning conductor on their houses.

quote author=may032 post=69066512]This is unfortunate. May God comfort the family.

I think this should be a call for all to check their home earthing if its there and working effectively. I read the comments to see if anyone will mention this, but so far no one did.

Lack of effective earth in the house can cause shock, which can in turn cause death should lightning strike if care is not taken

Ok I now when an engineer was installing a 40kva soundproof generator at our facility,I saw him kind of buring a wire of some sort in the ground connected to the generator. I asking him why he was doing that,he called it earthing or whatever. He said it was to prevent electric shock from the gen. I also know something was installed on the roof of the building. I'm a novice in that area don't really know much.

Lightning can kill when someone is in a room of an unearthed building and then person is fiddling with metallic or conductive equipments(particularly appliances) when it strikes. The person's basically becomes a conductor transmitting electricity to the earth.
Mccullum:
RIP for the young man but Natural lightening can't kill one in its own room except unnatural lightening that is send to a particular person by Sango worshipers or evil doers.

Yeah,it's a common practice worldwide when electrotechnical installations are done be it around buildings, industries etc to make provision for Earthing System...as a way of protecting buildings, equipment, people as the case may be from lightning strike.

There's the opinion that the building the boy was in,was likely not earthed. You grab?

How do one begin to decipher un-earthed buildings

There is what they call Lightning Resistor,it's usually a short rod with 3 spikes; installed on the roof of buildings. If you have been observing, mostly tall buildings(either residential or corporate) have it. It is quite distinct from the usual [telecommunications] antenna. It's easy to spot it anywhere. A building that has it, means that building is EARTHED

Basically it is connected to wires which extends to the ground and buried,it conducts electricity away from the building into the earth(ground) in a lightning strike. That way people and buildings are protected from the danger of lightning strikes.

Also in the installation of electrical equipment around a vicinity, earthing has to be done to prevent it from shocking.
