So you mean one can start with 5 thousand Naira in the after mentioned of (1) and (2) below? quote author=eezeribe post=68867321] If you take time to go through the thread, every question you asked has been answered so many times, but I will give you a summary... You can start with as little as 5k, or as much as your networth. 1)mutual funds are good for long term investments... 2)Stanbic, investment one, ARM, AxA Mansard, FBN holdings, etc 3)Interest rates are calculated per annum, investment could be monthly or one time depending on your goals... jpphilips: jpphilips, your post sum it all on what I have been able to gather so far. I diversify my funds across various MMF and Im also thinking about backing off, SIBTC MMF did not meet up to my expectation and Invest-one ABACUS so far is good...waiting for the VGIF to mature. Like you said all that "glitters is not gold" maybe why some folks still prefer the NTB to MMF. What about creating a pool of funds with like minds and invest in FGN Bonds (Not the savings bonds) |

For new and prospective investors, always try to go through the pages of this thread, most of the questions that may arise would have already been treated in the previous pages. Please pay attention to page one where the boss ernie4life did justice to the various types of funds and their ratios of portfolios. Try to always do a diligent research on the various types of funds available, to know the particular ones that would meet your long term or short term goals, in proportion to your risk ability. You should also do well to check the following about the fund you may be interested in : Performance history Price history Year to date performance Portfolio distribution Average yield rate, etc 1 Like |

kaycodes:PDF sent... I will answer for number one. Stanbic ibtc mmf has recently switched from quarterly to periodic compounding. According to them, the periodic is better than the quarterly because the compounding now occurs more frequently. For ARM maybe you could send them a mail for enquiry. For investment one, I will mention ernie4life to put you through. |

eezeribe:I opened an earlier at stanbic and cannot whether I indicated interests should be reinvested or not, how can I know as this stage? 1 Like |
eezeribe(m): 5:09pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
RalphVwede:There are some methods : (1)You can know by logging into your , via the website (not the app). Then check your subscription column, if you only have new subscription or top up subscription(s) under the column, it means your interests are not compounding. But if part of your daily interests are added under your subscription column(with specific dates), it means you are on compounding. (2)check your net inflow, if the amount you see is only the amount you used to open the mutual fund or the total of all your top ups plus initial capital, it means you are not on compounding. But if your net inflow is higher than your initial capital plus all your top ups, it means you are on compounding. If after all you discover you are not on compounding or this method doesn't seem clear to you, just apply for a dividend mandate modification via email or phone, and request for your interests to be reinvested. 3 Likes |
