I'm Andrew by name. Obokparo and Orezime are my native names. I'm from Uzere, Isoko-South. Both parents are from Isoko. Born and bred in Lagos. I understand Isoko when spoken to me but have tough time speaking it - sadly!

^^^^^^ omoesume. Welcome to the Isoko group, I can't relate to the "oyan ewehren" though. The spelling looks so Bini too. Do Isoko have any particular word for goodbye? ![]() It can roughly translate to a word like yò obeuwóu. I am not too sure though ![]() |

babyfaceafrica: I thought you were working on the itsekiri language some months back, well I can't help much with the isoko language due to its complexity, but travelling to Delta will help solve most of the issues. Happy Sunday. |
babyfaceafrica: 1:16pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
Efewestern:yes wanted to work in itsekiri..but unavailability of speakers impeded me..thanks very much..hope to get some speakers around before travelling to delta..I want. to be sure the language is "workable".... |
Efewestern: 2:13pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
babyfaceafrica: The language is sure workable, But you should also note that the isoko's have little population, so there are little chances of you meeting many online for assistance, the best option is to come over to Delta and get first hand info about the language. |

Digwo, Could someone fluent in Isoko tell me how to say in Isoko to a woman: Ovo) "You are beautiful" Eve) "You have beautiful boobs" Esa) "You have a beautiful butt" This is just for fun - would like to surprise someone. DrY |
EfemenaXY: 11:21am On Jul 08, 2018 |
BarryX: It sure does. I read somewhere that with proper linguistics investigation, a lot of history can be unearthed about a people’s tribe, migration, etc Now this is something I definitely would be interested in ![]() @ BabyfaceAfrica: do keep us updated on your research findings |
