I have always had this question to ask regarding this certification.

is cisa peculiar to just IT guys alone (security), because I know auditors who also take CISA exams.

Does the certification include both Financial Auditors and IT security pros?

Anyone can write the exam and but to actually use the certification you must show that you have 5 years of IT Controls experience.

look for a sound and reputable training institute
You will get all you need to ace the exam

Your none IT background dosent mean much
IT is an open playing field for all ...if you ready to give it the hard work it takes

For Information Security with no IT background
I would advice you take it from ground up
first Comptia A+ takes you from scratch...understanding OS, BIOS, and computer systems in general

from there you can move to Comptia S+ ...teaches you the rudiments of security

Then you want to move to CEH (Ethical Hacking) ...then some courses on Vulnerability scanning and Penetration Testing

from there ...you can proceed to doing CISA, CISM, CISSP ..these are the management courses in security

there are other courses here and there...the more you know, the more you want to know and there are tons of resources online you can use

I did CISA first because I have a bit of IT background and just want to switch to IS field
right now, on the fundamentals (those courses I mentioned up there)
And looking at being a CISSP before the year runs out

information security professionals are scarce and needed everywhere..
So your move is a good one bro...

Well, I completed S + and N+ courses respectively on Cybrary.it
Very detailed and comprehensive...but I chose not to write the exam but I can boldly say I learnt a whole lot from the courses (and 85% sure I will the exams if I decide to write it, I doubt if I will though)..the truth is some certs don't have market value and are not well recognized(my opinion) and for such, just keep and retain the knowledge(again my opinion) ..., if you have the time and the spare cash, go for it..

The two main exams for me this year are CEH and CISSP ...
Paid for CEH and studying at the moment for the exam (self study)...hopefully next month, I will write it and
Immediately kick off training with Rythex (CISSP training starts next month) and can't afford to self study

Hopefully, that would be my end of the year gift to myself as I hope to take it by Nov/Dec

Moreso, why CCNA...one would have thought you have gone the rudiments with your S+ and CEH
