Hello Guys! I got my study permit for Ph.D. today. Submitted on Tuesday 6th in VFS Lagos. Got to SA Embassy in Lagos on Wednesday, 7th. Processed and dispatched to VFS for Collection on the 12th. That's roughly 4 to 5 days. Decided to pick it up today 14th. All done in about a week.

Thank you guys for all the advise.

My lesson learned is
1) to be extra honest (volunteer more than is needed),
2) you can use a non-blood relative SOA. Do make untrue claims anywhere in your letters.
3) State things as clearly as possible. If you have any seemingly conflicting information (State the reason in your letter of introduction)

most times they don't give visa beyond ports expiration. It only takes favour and luck.

I did not have my BSC certificate when I did my SAQA. The important thing is for you to certify all your document. Also, ensure that your university responds to an email that will be sent from SAQA to if your result is genuine.

Yes, Ethiopian Air would provide overnight accomodation in Addis Ababa. Right from Murtala Airport after obtaining your boarding , they would issue you a voucher(Accomodation and meals). Shuttle in Addis Ababa will take you to your accomodation and back.

Step by step . Get ission letter first from your school and apply for study permit thereafter your families apply for accompany visa. This is simple and straight forward

Hello house. The SA universtities I wanna apply to require me evaluate, my secondary school certificate, by SAQA, and to write the NBT(national benchmark test) as a criterium for getting isions. My question is will I have to travel to SA to write the NBT since there is no centers of the test in Nigeria. I will have to go there, what Kind of visa should I apply for? Note: I have a south african host, willing to cater for all my needs. Thanks.

You can use Trivago for your hotel bookings otherwise Airbnb could also be suitable.

That's what VFS staff told me too, but check Chisam Hotel, Carvendish if you can book directly without payment.

But for my own application this January, I used booking.com oh.

Please colleague of mine was almost repatriated at the point of entry because he didn’t pay for his hotel reservation in Johannesburg. How true is this? Is it a new law? I was there last year I don’t experience this and my kid bro is about to Visa now. We have all been using booking.com without payment until we arrive at the hotel. Is booking.com not valid again?

get the original statement of the one for travel purpose. That can be scanned to you and you print it out. Get the original of any document that will you. You will be denied if it’s not. Sometimes it’s obvious you are going for right reasons and you are legit but can be denied because you did not follow the right procedure... all from my experience.

yes it’s very possible. I am here for 7 days and I booked two nights, when I arrived the guy questioned why I had to pay for two nights when I am staying 6 nights and he let me go because of my host after I told him my plans. I think it’s a way of making revenue for their country. It is best you pay for a hotel directly not booking because they might call the hotel.

What course are u applying for and is it undergraduate? U can only write NBT in SA oo. U should check the uni the deadline of when ur nbt should be done cos u can pick from the dates available.
