Yes...it is painful. But at the moment, we don't have enough money to guarantee free education. Even if we spend 2/3rd of our budget on education, that amounts to 2.1 trillion naira. Meanwhile, ASUU and the govt signed an agreement 9 years ago that estimated ideal funding for universities to be N3 trillion naira. And that education budget does not just go on universities alone....it goes for primary and secondary and polytechnics. So, we may be looking at N7 trillion budget AT LEAST for education just to keep fees low, and build new facilities. Yes...., Denmark, Finland and Sweden have FREE education.....but that is at the cost of a tax rate that means a citizen there pays 50% of their income in taxes. If we tried that in Nigeria..... Yes, our leaders, parents and grandparents went to school free (no, they did not, that's a myth...they had to pay fees too...and hustle for scholarships. Awo's free education affected only the Western region...and besides...fewer people went to university....you needed to WAEC at a very high rate before getting in...five credits would have gotten you into a poly or a teachers college at best) So...ABSU students...pay your fees. When you graduate, start putting money aside for your kids fees too. The era of free education is over. 8 Likes 1 Share |

When i first saw absu school fees,i was shocked.their school fees would be around N200,000 the last time i checked. It is not about getting ission into the university, the school fees of the school should be first considered before applying to avoid problems.

The SUG, should gather students to Government house, and request the Governor to pay their parents and guidance salary in civil service.

T. A Orji destroyed that school. I'm glad graduated and left that place. I won't advise anyone to go to that school.

Now Daddy Freeze and his followers will surely blame Adeboye...Oyedepo...Olukoya. They will blame churches and mosques for not using offerings to ensure free education for all the youths in Nigeria. They will blame the inabilities of some parents to pay the tuitions of the kids on the fact that they used their money to pay offerings and tithes. In fact, they will expect the Catholic Church in the east to use the offering they collect tomorrow to settle the bills of the affected students of this university. Yea, they shall blame Father Mbaka for this.
