Exaclty why i advised Chidiebere's mom to withdraw him from that school. i discovered the teacher is teaching the helpless, uneducated hairstylist woman instead of her boy. the reason for sending your wards to a supposedly high standard school is to have the kind of education you never had but reverse is the case and the painful part is you re paying through your nose..

imagine the mother will just be running temperature looking for who to help with a primary two assignment.

The worst was the zuma rock assignment sometime ago, he was to research, type and bind the work and i was like this is nonsense because obviously this assignment is not for the boy. Aside that, the boy comes home with nothing less than six assignments and the mother after begging people to help with the assignments will still not sleep till around 11pm just checking if all the assignments were done and beating the boy for not able to read the assignment

reminds me of kansi's comedy on homework, where she called the school and asked the teacher to either share the school fees with her since she does most of the work or at least send her the answers beforehand.

some teachers won't even bother to mark the assignment.

stingy man.home work is meant to bring u closer to ur kids.most Nigerian parents are just after money and fun.oga u will not complain if u were at the bar with ur friends for 6hours or with a side chick. the kids mother will be one side hustling or gossiping with friend,husband will be in one angle looking for money or traveling around the country or world.check it are teachers been paid so much that they shud teach ur kids every tiny winny subject to the grassroot.teachers are the best,they endure alot.oga spend tyme with ur kids bind with them if it's the home work that will do it no problem,if u don't know it oga Google it search for it by that way u are also learning too no knowledge is a waste. leave house help and teachers alone they too have so much work,they can't train ur kids for u.if it's too much take a break and let the kids play after then u guys shud continue.sit with ur kids and stop galivanting from pillar to post searching for God knows what.SMH so much for morden stingy parents.

that's bad. you are subconsciously telling them to always give up when tasks get to difficult.

He is making a point. I see them around. How about giving family type homework once a month for two or three different subject instead of giving it to the student everyday for the parents to solve, at least make them well versed for the assignment and just make them practice more at home for a short period of time. They also need rest, play time, and family time.

Am not advocating for a lazy education like the university type or gragra education like the elementary and secondary ones we currently practice. I am advocating for smart and intelligent educational system like the world has never seen before but will come to ire, with a from the ground up approach. School environment still matters and civic/moral education needs to be given a priority just below science, engineering, and math. Let others practice stem, we can practice SEMM(science, engineering, maths, and morals).

If I handle Nigeria for 4 yrs, forget mumuism, na the fastest turnaround from 3rd or 8th world to more than half of the country in 1st world column and the other half in 2nd world column, we go get. No time for baby steps and unintelligent actions.

the School lesson is also unnecessary......teachers spend 8hrs teaching the kids,is it the extra 1hr lesson that make the kids brilliant?

I keep saying it,, the system is very unhealthy for these kids,, imagine a 7/8year old kid going to school as early as 6:30am for morning class before assembly.
Then the school closes by 2pm.
Extra lesson till 5/6pm
Comes home worn out with barrage of assignments.
And during weekends,, the whole neighborhood won't even be enough to finish the homework the teachers give to these kids.

In S.Korea...some kids don't get home till 11pm...from cram school.

I would not want to bring up a child in either country.

Another thing I noticed is that the number of subjects these primary school pupils do is also too much, how can a primary 2 student be doing 17 subjects?!!! Elementary or primary school is aimed at teaching pupils to read and write and also be able to do some basic maths, 8-10 subjects is ok for a primary school student
