I haven't been debited by stanbic, could this means the bid didn't went through.
As long as Stanbic debited me, I believe their bid being the same bankwide must have gone through.
I suggest you be patient or visit your branch for further clarification on Monday.
Cheers.

Good Morning guys

Please help, am confused here. I feel I was cheated.

I went to GTB and requested to invest 200k in TB for 91 days and I was debited 193,318. Please at what rate was the transaction?

Thanks

Your 200k would have been more profitable to you in a Money Market Fund

Hope peeps ain't looking at this thing from one end only (the rate offered)?

What about the tenor? By my lil understanding, one may need a very large fund maybe like 3m to get an interest of 31k considering 18% @ 22days. Comparing interest to principal is like David and golliath.

Primary market, longer tenure makes your pocket wet you know cool
Maybe I might just be wrong though.

You are right. People shud consider longer tenor.

S.I= PRT/100.

18% of 1,000,000 for 22days will give you 10,849 while

18% of 1,000,000 for 364days will give you 180,000.

Please always bid for a higher rate and longer tenor for higher benefit. My little Kobo.

most mutual funds are paying 17% rates and they pay every 3months

so if you put 200k in an MMF it will pay at 17% rates after 91days not 13% as in primary market.

lol.. The 13% in primary market is per annum thats 3.25% in 90days
the 17% in MMF is also per annum thats 4.25% in 90days..
see the difference now?
