pacino26: 1st production was in 2003, so it cant be a world war relic or any relic for that matter. Moreover its a made in brazil aircraft The Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano (About this sound pronunciation), also named ALX or A-29 is a turboprop light attack aircraft designed for counter insurgency (COIN), close air , aerial reconnaissance missions in low threat environments, as well as providing pilot training. Designed to operate in high temperature and humidity conditions in extremely rugged terrain, the Super Tucano is highly maneuverable, has a low heat signature, incorporates fourth generation avionics and weapons system to deliver precision guided munitions. Even most of the private jets our people buy, how many are new ?

SOPIGO: It is not a third world aircraft. Top of the line US technologies inside. Some funny guy on this thread was also talking about Nigeria developing all the technology required. This is impossible. Embraer the Brazilian manufacturer bought a license from the US and also integrated technology/parts from more than 30 companies in 20 foreign countries to produce the aircraft. We should just concentrate on broad areas of engines, airframes and avionics and try to catch up fast. Each of these areas also has many technology areas dominated by many companies in many countries. It is not easy so we have to start now |
