Who gave him the award?

I don't know him and its not a crime to ask who he is. Well, i just listened to his song(show you something) and he still has a long way to go and pay his dues because of the genre of music and environment. Even his baba, Mode 9 is still struggling for mass acceptance.

Hope am no even wasting my time explaining to you self because your response shows the kind of character you are.

Dis wan said he still has a long way to go grin

Nigeria still has a long way to go when it comes to rap. Abi do you think rap is all about saying crap that rhymes with beat. Anybody who listens to good rap music will tell you boogey and mode9 are still the best. Not all dis nonesense olamide is saying and he will be claiming rapper.

You ppl saying 'Pride goes before a fall' should just stfu already. If they re are recognized or not, does it stop them from doing their thing and putting their best into it? Award or no award, their reward is what matters to them ( and am sure their bank can speaks volume of that). And for you ppl slamming Olamide for not coming, the question is 'Is he the biggest absentee? Nobody talked about Don baba, Dbanj, Tiwa, Davido, where is DJ Jimmy Jatt? Xclusive?
Headless organisers should have themselves to blame for organising a floppy award show.
To me sha little by little the headies kinda losing it's worth!!

That's what is called an award show, the people who you think will win most times don't. The person giving the award to also deserves it...simple
Don't let us attach sentiments to anything, it happens in most award shows all over the world, including Grammy.
Nigerians we like to complain so much, we have bad mouthed headies and when it dies a natural death, will see the award shows that will match it.
Let's always our own, most of all those artiste only do what they do because they are known and making money, [s]last year Adekunle Gold, Lil kesh all were there to grab this award, this year they be forming big boys...rubbish![/s]

You didn't have to mention just them, not only them boycotted the event

For you info, they weren't on tour but had shows which they have been booked already since around July, How do you postpone that, even the matter was tabled before animasawun but did he listen? Nope
You must be talking from a reliable source. That animashaun guy is strong headed owes workers salary and stubborn

the main reason is timing. December is the worst time to do the award. most artists have more than 1 show in December. some have shows outside the country. some people would travel to their villages for Christmas. I will suggest the show be held in another month e.g. September, February or July. Again, the date should be announced like 4 - 6 month earlier so that people can plan for it. also interview or tv segments should be done on the authenticity of the selection process and eventually winners.

The artistes in Nigeria are not united. They all want to be recognized at once. Even the ones who didn't do very well for the year in review still expect to be recognized one way or the other, but this is not possible. undecided

I agree that the headies organizers have their own major fault too as they have failed to listen to suggestions from people outside, but it's not enough reason for our artistes to boycott the only "credible" awards we have.

If our artistes cannot give credibility to headies by gracing the occasion with their appearances because of one grouse or another they're having with the organizers then they should come together as artistes and form a body that would give out awards at the end of every year, let's see how far they'll go.

Same artistes who will fly all the way to the US to receive BET awards at the backstage and asslick MTV to attend their awards even when they're always put aside and they lose their awards to their South African counterparts who are not that better than them will be forming and carrying their shoulders for award and recognition given to them on their own home soil. It's pathetic.

Both the artistes and headies organizers have a major role to play. They should come together and work this out. It was not like this before! Nigerians really want headies to be better and more presentable, forget all these "fück headies" and "who headies epp" we are seeing around.

I hope for a better show next year and our artistes should please have sense. Don't be helping other countries music industry to grow while you're destroying your own, that's plain foolishness.

I agree with you 101% on this...you hit the nail on the head

Not acceptable at all. It's their award, no matter what flaws headies have it's one of the most recognized music award in Nigeria, probably the most recognized. if they treat it like shit and they're going to collect awards in Ghana or South Africa then it's Shame on them

No mind them.
Nothing Headies guy can do to please them.
This show was done January this year, first week...not sure of the date. It clashed with AliBaba's show, lot of artistes were performing there and other shows too. The guest had to be divided between both shows, with headies losing cry.

Dude decided to make it come earlier this year, now they are saying January.
Very soon, they'll say Feb14. I think that's the best sef, the show shouldn't be in festive period.
He should also employ AY as part of his team, he is a good organiser and marketer.
They think it's easy to organize award shows. Headies didn't start today in fact this will make it their 11th year in the industry and every artiste knows how they operate. It is always at the end of the year.

Using shows and concerts is not an excuse. What happened to the other years that they attended the award? No shows and concerts then? As you said, they are just trying to frustrate the ayo guy's efforts. It's just very obvious they decided not to attend the event, that's all.

I really feel pity for him. Waste of money and efforts.

It It is stupidity on the part of our artistes . when they never won the award they will be cool. Once you are nominated, you have chances of winning it. I keep laughing when some people say one artiste doesn't deserves an award. The award is not the property of anyone. I pray it gets better next year.

I buy Mode 9 albums. So, i know what am talking about. Olamide is saying nonsense but he is making his money and regarded as a musical superstar in Nigeria.
