Its a military tactics called Flaying. Where u use intimidation, beheadings, torture, rape, mutilation, amputation, threat, imprisonment, starvation, drugs etc to instill fear & horror then blend it with shades of religion or codes until d subject sees no purpose to live n life becomes hopeless.
