To all Selling/Buying BTC; For Sellers, try indicating the dollar rate you using and for Buyers, try knowing the dollar rate used.

Its the most important aspect in BTC sale.

I'm equally surprised how people are selling btc quoting blanket value without the quantity of the btc.

I don't think it's a sellers concern to know the rate between btc and dollar, if you're selling naira/$.
It's the buyer that should calculate how much dollar worth of Bitcoin requires. I sell my Bitcoin say N520/$ flat, whether btc is worth $615 or $640.
This will only apply if you're selling your bitcoin per BTC, e.g N330,000/BTC

You don't get it do you?
That you are using Blockchain's rate doesn't mean that's the universal BTC rate.

Compare https://markets.blockchain.info and http://preev.com

You will get a glimpse of what i mean.

If you claim to sell at flat rate, then it means we can use $600/1BTC then.

The calculation will now be:

600*any amount of BTC you selling * Your Naira Rate = The amount i will pay you in Naira.

For instant, you have 0.4 BTC and your naira flat rate is 520, while my BTC dollar rate is 600.

600*0.4*520= N124,800

^^^That is how it should be calculated, and if you go with that price because the buyer is to give the dollar rate, You lose!

You are right though. I think things are done differently in Nigeria...lol. I was surprised the btc price in Nigeria was on a bearish (dropping) while the same price was bullish (spike) on other platforms. One has to blend in both ways to buy and/or sell.

Yes toluxa1 is right. In nigeria things are done differently.

For example there has been a rise in price of BTC Internationally but a drastic fall in price locally. In nigeria, bitcoin hasnt really come into play as a well needed legal tender aside the need by those so called MMM, Bitcoin doublers and all.

You hardly see nigerians using bitcoin to trade and all. Sadly, some of the so called african heroic bitcoins exchangers - likes of BitX and even NairaEx are not helping matters.

Am not suprise, i have learnt that its only in nigeria that economics laws are bull crap. Laws of demand is opposite and so also is supply.

I honestly do wish several nigerians can trade bitcoins internationally. It did be a good start for us all. I am so certain of this because of our so well grilled hoardling mentality can be a plus

This is correct, but only in nigeria.

The way we sell bitcoins in nigeria is totally wrong. And its one of major reasons we have few nigerians trading on international platforms etc.

If you should do your calculation well you will come to notice that trading on some sites like localbitcoins and all will almost give you same profit as selling as a major wholesaler in the country...

The above though i see is changing today....

Sir although you are well experienced in this field
But i can tell you mathematically that you are wrong

As a seller you cant just come and say " i have $500 Btc for sale at 520naira" as a seller you have to specify the parallel dollar rate you want to use to sell your btc so the buyer can know the exact value of btc he is paying for.

If you go by saying you dont have a parallel dollar rate and that is the buyers concern, then you would agree with me that if the buyer calculates your btc at a parallel dollsr rate of 500, then you are obliged to agree to sell to him, which will be a big loss to you.

Bottomline is as a seller you must state your dollar rate, naira rate

Google rate could be lesser or higher dan blockchains rate, and if u leave d power in the hands of d buyer, den he will choose the lesser rate which will be a loss for u

It is suffice for us to say shocker007 is very correct
